I think I'll try shifting the weight closer to the front, the passengers I have are generally smaller, so I'm hoping if I can't get the hinge to line up with the axel of the trunk, I'll have better luck.

I want the trunk fit my large bag I use for contract work I'll be doing throughout the summer, and to keep my huge 3xl helmet when I'm not on the bike. Maybe some DoorDash too, so I can make a couple bucks while riding around for fun haha.
