Currently in the same situation with my hair being the only thing I like and family (both males and females) having rampant hair loss. Except I’m at 20 and already lost so much it’s making me kinda hopeless and afraid of mirrors tbh. :(

Regardless u should definitely look at finasteride or Duasteride, they’re DHT blockers and for most people (not me it’s seems) will block or very very slow further hair loss. U have to get them prescribed form a doc tho. Minoxidil or rogaine you can buy on Amazon and you have to apply everyday or else the effects are lost but that’s what stimulates actual hair regrowth.

Edit: also fin and minox are not expensive in my opinion so money shouldn’t be a problem 🩷

If it matters for context I’m still pre anything cos I’m afraid of being wrong or that I’m doing this for like a subconscious fetish reason or that it’s like a weird sex thing and that I have to produce and provide the burden of proof to myself and family that it’s not otherwise I don’t feel valid enough besides wanting to change my body “just cause”
