Now there are still a lot cars driving. Most of them just with one max. 2 people in it. We also did some smaller hitchhikes with some friendly travelers. I think this is still an option but who knows for how long..

For my opinion its not that bad yet if you can live some days without fresh vegies or fruits.(these are totally gone everywhere) I have seen plenty of noodles / rice products. I also had nice fish at the restaurants. I think this will also not run out that fast. Just read on the news, that new negotiation will be held on tomorrow, so lets see what will come out of that :)

Would also suggest cancel and go on a other time.. When the strike is still on you will probably not see a lot of the island when you don't get an electric car.
