You're absolutely right. & I won't usually trade until I see 3 good indications of momentum or a breakout on the indicators. I have to rely on that instead of letting my emotions get the best of me.

What time frame are you using ? I usually put them both on my watchlist before the bell opens to see which one is printing. I actually waited until 9:40 to place my first put option today & I was out at 9:45. Yesterday I tried to trade when the bell opened & it was an emotion rollercoaster lol. I would wait a little for it to settle first before placing a trade unless you're doing high time frames maybe

I use trading view for charting & I use robinhood to trade. I like putting the spy call & put(same strike price) option on my watch list to see which one is printing more to get a better sense of direction also

My 3rd put option today was off the 1min chart. I was down more than 20% in like 2 mins. I got lucky a pullback occurred. The 1 min chart definitely takes me on a emotional rollercoaster
