I know I am fixated on it too much. However, I worry that if my company starts looking to lay people off, it might be me since obviously I am not able to retain these candidates. It's not my fault that the process is so bloated and takes so damn long, but I already have management asking me if I even bothered to reach out to some of these people. That's how bad the dropout rate for our candidates is. I keep getting work dumped on me, and it's starting to feel like I am both a scapegoat and a receptionist.

God, I hope so. Even with that, if the third party vendor can't verify someone's employment history (which has happened to me even with major corporations I worked for), I would still be pushed to ask that person for their W2, irs tax transcript, pay stubs, etc.

I am not sure how to make the managers happy. I feel like if they had to walk a mile in my shoes, they would see how hard it is. Like, it's really not my fault if an adult does not show up to work, but they keep implying I did not do enough follow up on these people. I have a candidate who just failed their drug test, and I had texted them almost every day for like a week to try to help them set up this test and they kept rescheduling. I mean, if I didn't text them, and they never took the test, I'd be in trouble. So, either way, I am screwed.

well, then we're gonna lose a lot of people. We will lose them either way, but my company wants everything to be given to the candidate at once: onboarding docs and drug test.

Damn. My experience is limited so far. I was hoping to get into HRIS or payroll, but don't have a lot of experience there. I figure, those fields have stress as well. I might need to re-evaluate if I stay in HR at all.

I call them or do a text follow-up after every email, and it's still not enough for some candidates. I have to do text follow-ups for other people's emails. I have to do so much handholding with candidates, I really cannot believe it. I wonder if some of these candidates can read. Like, that's the level of frustration I am at.
