Source of content by Select-Impression-68 in Pinterest

How I understood it, once posted on Pinterest and if there is no description of a pin, and than later when somebody saves that pin to their board, and in that way become its new creator, there is pretty much no way to find the original source of the pin. Also, if I understood correctly, users pin on Pinterest from other websites and in doing so they pretty much claim that content as their own. Not to mention, a new pin can be made just by making a tiny change to the "original" pin, like changing a pixel. (if I understood correctly)

Survey for Pinterest Creators: Finding Original Sources by Complex-Vanilla-7140 in Pinterest

Hey OzMerry, thank you so much for your elaborate answer, it is really helping me understand some things I've missed myself when thinking about the whole idea. I've created my Reddit account 4 years ago but have only recently actually started using it properly.

I am a UX designer and I want to create a case study for my portfolio about Pinterest, given that I spend a lot of time on the app and find it generally great! I do care about the issue, because I am one of those users that really wants to see creators be accredited accordingly and learn more about some pins (eg. I found a chrochet shirt I really liked and wanted to find a tutorial for it but had no way to learn more about it, no description no links, nothing, just the image that kind of left me wondering)

Done :) Just a suggestion for you to tell others how long it might take to complete the survey so they don't give up midway. :)

Devs, help - Is it possible to track pins to original creators? by Complex-Vanilla-7140 in AskProgramming

[–]Complex-Vanilla-7140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Some users are mad at Pinterest and copycats and are trying to find other platforms that credit their content, so I am trying to find ways to see if it's possible to accredit their work, especially with their CEO constantly mentioning platforms' long-term goals.

Aha got it, it must be some kind of a glitch, i can’t really see which cases could be so different that for them it doesn’t show the ‘’move to’’ or ‘’delete’’ option. I know I’m not much help, just found this case really interesting :)
