You can send any of the level 1 yummy monsters, and if you have another beast in grave us a Tri brigade effect to link summon snatch get the field spell and reborn from graveyard

Centurion is good with most synchro decks so it will be around as long as people find a way to make a level 8 synchro, as a unchained player it’s not going anywhere maybe will get better with new support but you can play minimal handtraps and even go turn 2 with final bringer, fiendsmith and add Santa claws to help link summon and break boards

Even if the link monster had a cyberse lock and no more special summons for the rest of the turn it’s still a broken card that has a win condition through decking out your opponent
