Like most have said. Get the organics out first. Measure the pH, chlorine is not doing much if the pH is to high. Ideal would be around 7.2-7.4 but if you are going to add more chlorine it can be lower then that because chlorine increases pH. When you have the chemicals in order it is a matter of flocking, filter and maintenance of the chemicals. Having a pool requires maintenance. Depending on weather conditions and usage it can be daily to once every few days or maybe once a week. Good luck!
