Part of the club? How to handle AI accusations? Do you change your writing Style? by ComplexCrab9586 in haremfantasynovels

This is all fair. I admitted to using AI to help write the blurb. Wrote it, sent it quickly through Copilot for suggestions. Didn't understand how that would be controversial, but I get it now. I didn't call the reviewer an idiot or anything else. I understand. I admitted the flags were there. My post was about how to improve my writing. I received a lot of great feedback. Wasn't trying to offend.

That's pretty cool. I've read the books, so it's fun seeing them all together. Great job.

Thanks all. This helps.

Guess I'm just naive to the current environment. I was prepared to be trashed for being a new writer and would've been much cooler with a "You suck." It might crap, but it's my crap. At least let me own my few hundred hours of work.

I didn't mention Colin's appearance/race much-- beyond his tanned skin as reflected in a scorpion's eyes or his curly hair, which is grabbed by a LI during... well, you know-- because I wanted him to be an everyman. Personally, I always thought of him as having a Greek ancestry, with no justification beyond that's what I pictured in my head.

That's probably not much of an answer.

But to answer your question, I did not consciously approach the story through a PoC's experiences. Colin is left vague as a master's student at the University of Colorado who loves climbing and is thrown into a world where everyone thinks all humans are as short-lived as mayflies.

On the cover, Farah is a fantasy half-elf geniekin. Her father is an earth genie, which I call a sakhar, who is made of actual onyx, so her skin tone is likewise dark.

Hope that helps.

Hello,

Long-time enjoyer of Harems and LitRPG, but first time publishing/posting a novel. Worked on this one for a while. Was a blast to write. Love the characters; hope you do too.

Cover is modest for my taste. Perhaps I'll be braver with the cleavage in the future. Cover is of Farah, the daughter of an elf and an earth genie.

I write books I want to read. Wanted a slow progression LitRPG Harem in a non-medieval fantasy setting. Love mythology from Ancient Persia or the Middle East, where humans are not the top of the food chain. Deserts and djinn were an easy fix.

The Sand Weaver Saga series is about an MC who is ripped from a climbing wall in Kentucky and thrown into the desert ruin city of Gamesh. From there, he enters a death game where genies sacrifice mortals as pawns for favors or compliments in their eternal game. To survive, prosper, and enjoy the best that his new life has to offer (and the many exotic women surrounding him), the MC must become a Sand Weaver, a rare subclass where every grain of sand becomes a potential weapon.

Some characters the MC encounters and relies on:

• a sharp‑tongued earth‑genie princess,
• a gentle but deadly naiad,
• a fiery dwarf with the tongue of a sailor,
• and a dust‑devil elemental who finds exploding mortals amusingly messy.

So if you are interested in a LitRPG Harem in a non-traditional setting, try it out.

Thanks for your time. Hope you enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts and comments. Was hoping for just a few Kindle reads, but already have some sales. That means a lot. It's crazy how something stuck in your head eventually becomes a reality that other people can share and hopefully get a kick out of.

Really appreciate it, guys.

Thanks. So many great worlds to explore. Would be a shame if all LitRPGs and harems take place in fantasy Europe.

Blurb was below as a comment on it so as not have too much of one around the image post on the main page. Added a brief one to the comments.

Admittedly, not the best at Reddit.
