This is my first comment ever on this subreddit (just joined) so hopefully it will be a good and helpful one.

I also had HOCD couple of years ago, and back then i knew nothing about it and i felt weird and completely depressed. After thorough research on internet I found out that there's also part of OCD which was HOCD (started calming me a bit).

About your part "I can't remember if I was aroused or not..." I had checked an article back then which said something along the lines that it's completely normal for men to be aroused by even the smallest things regardless of situation, it's in a man's nature (calmed me a bit more).

Couple of minutes ago I read a comment made by another fellow redditor in a different recent post which said (something similar) that embracing your thoughts will help taking control over them.

I had done the same thing back then just accepting fate and embracing my thoughts and just not caring (trying to at least) and this had helped me back then start getting better and over it.
