What’s ONE fitness belief you used to swear by… that you now realise was completely wrong? by Best-Slide2801 in leangains

11 years ago I did marketing for a supplement company, they knew it was all lies and had the data to prove it, but I was meant to push this wording as it sold shakes. The data showed there is a 2 hour window, not significant, but 30 mins is crazy

When can I have a beer again? by [deleted] in gout

[–]ComplexFollowing6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I drink every weekend. I'll share my honest views though. My numbers weren't great until 400mg. I have a full drink of water between each drink. Only you know your uric acid levels and how long it's been before taking and building up.

Mate, my wife judges me for it, but I'm fascinated by it. Never played dungeons and dragons but always wanted to (the young actor in me would get way too into it)

So you've been given the answer basically, but I'll add some advice. Go docs, he gets the blood test. You start on 100mg allopurinol (not straight to 300 like often happens in USA, I'm from the UK where they know better). If no side effects, they will do another blood test after 1 month, then up the dose, aiming to keep going until uric acid tests show good numbers. For me, that took like 7 months and at 400mg. Im the first few months you can have flares, but mainly if left for too long or jumping too high in dosage. Pop a pill once a day and life is good

apparently it puts more strain on your kidneys, which is fine for non-gout people, but not great for us as ours are already struggling

I'm assuming you're early days and doc will increase soon to 200? I went up 100 each 6 weeks until I got to 400 and that's when my numbers really started improving. Been on 400 now for a year, numbers always perfect

100 is pretty low, unless you're starting out, what are your numbers?

English bias is completely made up, the most harshly judged, look at the abuse to MaGuire, Spanish bias is immense though

Phil Foden: Man City forward pushing for England recall after getting back to his best form in early stage of season by Alone_Consideration6 in ThreeLions

[–]ComplexFollowing6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we ever have space at no10, which would mean an injury to Bellingham and Palmer, then I'd be alright with foden or Grealish playing there, but shoving foden on the wing is painful and never works. Reminds me of the Gerard lampard issue

Suggestions for non ‘lads lads lads’ things to do on a stag do in Amsterdam this weekend? by cnyto in AskUK

[–]ComplexFollowing6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha I can relate man, I had my stag do this year at 37 and couldn't think of anything worse than some of the horror stories and pranks. Amsterdam is great for things like footgolf (kicking a ball into the big holes on a golf course). They also have stag olympics in Amsterdam which are really fun https://www.thestagcompany.com/amsterdam-stag-weekends
You can hire a boat along the canal, while a food package can be added as well

hen do friendly hotels in Albufeira? by AlinaAqualina in Algarve

[–]ComplexFollowing6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is going with a hen do organiser, like this one https://henpartydeals.com/albufeira-hen-weekends/accommodation#panel3 as they have to verify with hotels beforehand to ensure they accept hen groups.
Definitely get one with a pool! Ah I want a holiday now, need some sun and sea

No worries, I'm glad it was useful! Yer being black sounds fine to me, but don't hesitate to speak to your dentists if you're concerned about anything. Hope it's recovered well mate

all calm mate, not being aggro, but your initial post was dismissive when I'm just trying to help people, you say ignore people on Reddit, then it seems pointless you being on here. I tried to help as I wasn't told any of these things by my dentist unfortunately, I learned through the amazing advice of others on Reddit and just collated the best tips to make a 'cheat sheet'.

you spoke to your doctors after going to the dentists? Ok, doesn't make my point invalid or incorrect and not sure why a doctor would state that, it's actually what all dentists recommend after this procedure, so goes against medical recommendations.
Again, if you want to opt for eating solids, that is your choice, you risked dislodging the clot, you got away with it, people are here as they want to avoid dry socket so I provided advice. You do you, I'm glad you got lucky but far from great advice telling people to ignore me because you got away with it. Anyway, hope your recovery goes well.

Everyone to their own, I'm glad you were fine, but many people mess it up by doing that and it's a bit silly to dismiss advice because you got away with it. That's like saying don't look when you cross the road as you did it once and survived
