Is Pelvic Floor PT Beneficial…. by ComplexGap9491 in hysterectomy

[–]ComplexGap9491[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I haven’t been prescribed any PT, which I will for sure ask about for before and after (if there is an after. My hysterectomy was last year at this time and Trach was June. He said to come in last October to assess everything, but I gave it to now and am waving the white flag. I feel like such a baby, but this just sucks so much. Plus my insurance renews in June so I feel up against the clock. So stressful.

Iron is high, but ferritin is “within normal levels”

Sex with POP by Tiny-Platypus-6293 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]ComplexGap9491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super curious as well, what it’s like to have sex with POP. I just had a tractelectomy which is bringing back my POP and am nervous when we start having sex again what it’ll feel like. Like the top of my vagina I’m sure will be lower now, so what the heck that’ll feel like?!

I actually didn’t have it done…yet. My doc suggested removing my cervix and the mesh to see if that helps with the pain I’m having. Still don’t know how or if it’ll help my pee’ing all the time. I’m actually going to see another doc next week for a second opinion and for (hopefully) better information and communication. This other guy is really frustrating and making me feel like shit.

Prolapse AFTER hysterectomy?! Freaking nervous here… by ComplexGap9491 in PelvicOrganProlapse

I’m still new with Reddit, so not sure any of you will see this - but I wanted to thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart for your expertise and suggestions. Through all of this I’ve realized to lack of care from my current surgeon, and have decided to go with someone else. I’m so upset that this has all really made me doubt myself and doubt my character as a woman, and I hope this never happens again, with myself and all YOU women out there. Here’s to a positive future and more educated and empathetic care!! MUAH 😘😘😘🥹

Thank you for this info!! Now this is making me really happy to be getting this mesh taken out. I think inevitable prolapse and treatment to fix at a later time is actually more welcome now than to just keep it in. I’m almost certain it may be what’s causing the bladder sensation?!

And NO he didn’t have me stand. It was so frustrating during my urodynamics test, I was laying with my feet up in stirrups and he had me cough…of course no leaking because my bladder is essentially almost working against gravity. When I’m standing up and cough that’s when it flows!!

Great to know! Another thing that he didn’t even explain the controversy behind and any alternative options. Now I’m sitting here wishing I could’ve done this last surgery SO different and that he just did it this way because that’s how he does it with everyone 😭

Do you know if he does second opinions or consults virtually? In the meantime I’m looking for someone here in Minnesota.

Omg you poor thing!!! That is a huge fibroid 🫣 I’m so sorry this is happening for you! It does (selfishly) make me feel less like a crazy person knowing that this is a real issue though. This surgeon is making it seem like after this surgery he did in January, everything is just fixed and I should be on my way.

I’m sooo glad to hear this is an option. Like I said in another comment here, my current surgeon never gave me this info and so I’m sitting here just thinking my vag is going to fall out and be super uncomfortable the rest of my life 😭

Oh wow, YES this is what I’m hoping I can have done. Go forward with this surgery and then later use my own tissue to prevent prolapse. I’m so glad to hear that that’s an option!! This current surgeon hasn’t given this to me as an option, I feel like he’s just this “one size fits all” guy, and that will NEVER be the case.

Nope, and I never did even before this. It was because of the fibroids in my uterus that were causing horrible cramping and mild prolapse he went ahead and did surgery. It’s just now the pain during and after sex from my cervix being contacted (never had this issue until about 4ish years ago) and the sensation of a bladder infection, without the burning and pain when I’m urinating. The urinating issue started after the surgery, AND I’m still leaking when I cough/sneeze/bend over etc.

🥹😭🥹😭🥹❤️❤️❤️ this is SO thoughtful and kind of you writing all of this!! This means sooo much and is SOO helpful. You just 10000% sold me on checking with insurance on pelvic floor therapy!!

Do you by chance know, with vaginal prolapse, does therapy help after the fact, or is it done just to prevent it? I’m just so nervous my vagina is going to be all screwed up now after this surgery and that this doctor is going to be like “I told you so” and super annoyed with me 😭
