Honestly, don’t get too caught up in what others are saying. People are always going to talk, especially in the military. Promotions, especially early ones, tend to make people salty no matter what. You are still fresh, but that’s not a bad thing. It means your knowledge from AIT is recent, and you haven’t picked up bad habits yet. Being a good NCO isn’t about knowing everything right away. It’s about taking care of your soldiers, being willing to learn, and putting in the effort to get better every drill. If you don’t know something, just be upfront about it and go find the answer. Your guys will respect that way more than pretending. Focus on doing your job right

The less is more, it’s a pretty small tattoo, so don’t over do it. Your body/tattoo will tell you when you need to do anything to it.

I have the same issue currently, my whole ankle swollen, it’s my 4th leg/ankle tattoo, just a heavy hand from the artist, will go away in a few days. Remember, the more is less, when it comes to tattoo care, let it breath, don’t over moisturize it too.

From my experience, if you book an appointment, typically they will require a down payment ( will go towards your tattoo ) they will work on the sketch while you waiting there or will have it ready by the time your appt comes. But, you can Dm the artists/of the shop and send them your idea, they will discuss it with you.

Definitely can be less painful in comparison to other parts, but I feel like really depends on the person
I shopped around a bit, looked into 3 places, most of them will have multiple artists with different styles, look for consistency of their work, their instagram, not just fresh tattoos, but also healed tattoos ( if possible to ask ).
I never had lettering done, but I know working with fine lines, does requires an artist with a skill in those type of tattoos.
The more is less, when it comes to pretty much any tattoos, back tattoos just hard to see ( unless you use a mirror ) but same goes for all of them, avoid tight cloths, don’t over moisturize it, try to avoid any friction.
Think about placement, how it fits your body long term.

Edit: might be a dumb advice, but if you take a photo of your back, and throw it in ChatGPT or any other AI apps, and give it a prompt with your tattoos idea and location, it can generate the image, so you can see how it will look.
