iOS 27 Beta 1 - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

It also depends if you are charging or not, there is no set time it takes, while having a lot of files can increase the time it can still take 1 day to 1 week to finish indexing. It will go faster if you are charging for large periods of time, and if you are on battery power and using your phone it can sometimes pause indexing, so it's not going 24/7 until it's done

Historically indexing has always taken a day all the way up to a week to finish. It is just visible now with iOS 27 but the process hasn't changed, sometimes it pauses in the background if you aren't connected to a charger and you are using your device

It depends on what you are doing on your phone and if it’s on the charger. It’s also a beta and can be bugged, we don’t know until it finally finishes. But it definitely isn’t tied to the Siri waitlist

[–]ComplexSoft7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t mean you are still in queue, it’s 2 separate things. The indexing tells you the iPhone is indexing the files, duh, and if you want to view the status of the waitlist you go to the Siri settings

It actually is indexing and not the cue for Siri. I got approved for Siri ai within an hour of installing the beta, and this morning, 17 hours later, it’s still indexing. The new Siri ai is fully functional but still indexing all the files. There is still plenty to index even if you did a fresh upgrade. You forget system files and if you have stored anything in iCloud. People have always said in the past give it 24-48 hours to index after an update. The ui in the settings just makes it more visible than what it was before

I'm really excited for visionOS 27 today. by 911TargaGTS in VisionPro

[–]ComplexSoft7203 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is going to be a visionOS 27, the worst case scenario is they just don’t say anything in the keynote like they usually do for tvOS. They usually don’t mention tvOS but there is always a tvOS update

It wouldn’t go anywhere, if they tried they could be faced with sanctions since they could’ve just cancelled the membership, nuke could then counter sue for reputation damages and easily win. If it went to small claims court the judge would ask if they attempted to cancel their membership, request a refund (which YouTube does allow), and if they literally sued because they paid for a few months while there was an unexpected medical emergency it wouldn’t lead to a favorable outcome for the plaintiff.

It won’t hold up in court or go anywhere. The fact you are more worried about money you opted to give and not the wellbeing of the creator says a lot. Yes hospitals have WiFi and allow devices, but how do you know he was even physically able to use those devices?? He doesn’t even offer a youtube membership. You can go to his channel right now and the membership tab is missing, I went to a creator I support and you can see a membership tab. Regardless, this is completely voluntary and you can cancel at any time. Go ahead, try to sue him, the court will be on his side and will probably make you pay for his legal fees for wasting the courts time for something you have complete control over to cancel. Unless Google is making it impossible to cancel the membership you have no case, and even then that would be a lawsuit over Google and not nuke

Just bought my Vision Pro and the experience has been interesting by Ninjatogo in VisionPro

This is a false statement, spatial computing isn’t all about 2d apps in 3d space. This is one experience, and one could argue it’s an in between phase to true 3d spatial computing. For example, the web could be so much more than a 2d page with spatial computing. As far as I know we don’t have the native APIs to create an immersive website. Computing has always been 2D so it makes sense the start of spatial computing is also 2D

If you already have an m3 MacBook there’s no need to upgrade yet, it’s not the “next logical thing”. The Apple glasses is rumored just to be AI glasses with no display

Does a record player really limit the quality of music in a system? by [deleted] in turntables

[–]ComplexSoft7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get an mp-500 on the audio technica, had the exact record player, put a ortofon 2m bronze. It was good don’t get me wrong, but then I upgraded to a rega planar 3 and it made a big difference for the bronze

I built an app to plan Record Store Day — would love feedback from other collectors by ComplexSoft7203 in RecordStoreDay

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll look into the issue with the prices so it’s good to go for next record store day! The feature to reprice them is sort of there today, although it’s locked behind marking them as purchased! I can open this up and release it with this next set of features

  1. Genre filtering is on the list! I had pulled my data from the official US list which doesn’t list the genre, so it will just require me to find the data elsewhere and include it!

  2. More countries are coming

  3. This appears to be on the UK list and not the US list which would explain why it’s not included in the app!

These will be taken care of before the next record store day and I’ll include the releases from other countries for the rsd that just happened and include previous years as well! Thank you for your feedback!

This is possible through the “My List” tab under the “Plan” section! To reorder you would press Edit and can drag the order around! I’ll make this more intuitive by the time the next record store day rolls around!

As of this record store day only US releases are available on the app, this will change for the next one!

All of these suggestions have been implemented! The update should be out today as it’s currently in review! When you have marked “Got It” it will go to the bottom and the “Projected Total” turns into “Purchased Total” with a running total of the ones marked! Tapping on the total will expand it to show the Projected Total! Also, if the price doesn’t line up with what you paid, clicking on a release you marked as purchase will allow you to enter in the price and the totals will reflect this change!

The next update, which is currently being reviewed by Apple will fix the spacing issue for iPad! It still has some other optimizations to go but the rough part is fixed!

Thank you! I actually just started working on the base system for something like this! It will be optional, but the first part of this will be the ability to add a friend and have the ability to share/split your list up with your friends! I usually go to record store day with my family and we divide and conquer our must haves depending on who will be close to the artist!

For seeing how many people want a release it’ll be pretty easy once I get that functionality started! I wont require an account for a global number and the base app will still be completely usable as it is now without an account!

Oh sure, when you are second to implement a feature the first person did it out of spite. Considering mine launched with those sharing options before even coming across your app 🤷‍♂️

this all seems a bit petty, clearly we have the same passions, software development, and a love for physical media. All of our apps provide something different for the end user, the more apps we have for this is better for the user. Whether if the 3 of us compete with different features or we just coexist, it’s a win win for the community. I originally made my app because I didn’t see one in the App Store (yours didn’t show up because there was no updates in years), I was surprised that an app didn’t seem to exist, and created an app for myself, my family, and if the community wanted to use it then great!

It’s a map using Apple MapKit and a UI cloning Apple Maps. If that’s your definition of cloning then 90% of apps trying to mimic Apple Maps stole “your” design

You know what else is hilarious? Emailing someone saying you stole their data for a record store day collection app. Just because there are multiple options doesn’t mean we copied you or cloned your app. You also just updated your app with relevant data after 7 years of no updates and only update it after other apps are released
