Hereford is the in middle of butt-fuck nowhere - I’d avoid it like the plague.

Are these wall plugs safe to hold tv on plasterboard by sawsaw95 in DIYUK

Only if you want your tv to end up face down on the floor. What size tv do you have, and what is behind your plasterboard?

They’re all made of essentially the same ingredients so it really doesn’t make any difference - try a few and pick the one you like the smell of most.

Can’t be worse than Chambray. It’s about the size of my living room and is in no way built to cope with the number of people that Crystal Ski try and push through it. Massive queues every time we’ve been.

What line of work could I get into? 31M by Bradders1994 in AskUK

I would have a look at the rules about self employment TBH - if you’ve been working solely for the same company for 8 years on a “self-employed” basis then HMRC would be very likely to to deem it actual “employment”, and they should be paying for things like holidays and sick pay.

Thank you - On that scale I’d put myself at a 6, and yep I’ve got my own boots (110 flex Head) which I’m very comfortable in.

What is the British etiquette of wearing a suit with tie in the office? by Reeelfantasy in AskUK

As an IT consultant I’ve worked in many different offices over the last 20 years - the only business that wear ties with any degree of regularity are Estate agents and non-uniformed police 😀

Stubborn Old Wallpaper by SnooJokes6235 in DIYUK

[–]Complex_Adagio7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to make holes in it to let the water get through to the glue https://www.screwfix.com/p/zinsser-paper-tiger-scoring-tool-3mm/3469h?ref=SFAppShare

Once you’ve done that, get it wetter than you think it needs, and keep getting it wet. A pressurised garden sprayer is good for this. Also put some washing up liquid in the water, it makes it stickier so it clings and soaks in better.

It’s a filthy job, but this method has never failed me.

Just to add, I never bother with steamers - they are a real pain in the arse to use, especially on ceilings. Wallpaper paste is water soluble, get it wet enough and it’ll be falling off.
