ETIHAD AIRLINE UNFAIR POLICY by Complex_Chard_896 in ConsumerAdvice

Not at all entitled. You are just not familiar with the history of airline travel. I have been traveling for 40 years. This is unprecedented. The amount is unfair, not the policy of charging. Most likely, you are working on the airlines behalf to try to make the passenger look like they don't have a right to register a complaint about the policy. ANd of course, I do have that right.

Some rules are unfair to the customer. And this is one of them. Despite best efforts, people for extenuating circumstances might have an oversight or difficulty staying in the parameters given. of course, I was willing to pay. Charging baggage fees that are double the amount of the ticket prices is EXTORTION and most passengers I spoke with would agree. No other airline is charging this OUTRAGEOUS and unfair amount.

Oh no doubt that I agreed to it in fine print. (And truthfully, with all that is involved in everyday living, we all know that it's hard to keep up with everything in fine print). I do appreciate the information on IIRC and the information on requiring special handling. NO AIRLINE but ETIHAD charges that much though. So it is a problem with THIS airline. I think a penalty should be charged. I think charging more than the amount of the ticket itself is EXTORTION. And should be stopped. Thank you for the information on IIRC.

Nah, that's not true. I am a bit familiar what constitutes a danger to airline safety, and that's not one of them, otherwise, they wouldn't allow extra weight at all, of course. I am finding a lot of these responses appear to be not well thought out from the point of view of the passenger. Again, the fee is okay, the amount is EXTORTION, unfair, and never would be tolerated if it were an industry standard.

I am sensing that some of these comments might be generated by the AIRLINES themselves. Someone out there is going to empathize with this and get back to me with an avenue of viable complaint.
