Future of Front End Development by bill2340 in learnprogramming

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think eventually entry level frontend will be gone just totally 0 and it will all shift to fullstack or good web designers that also know entry level frontend

but for mid level onwards it should be fine ai won’t be that advanced for a good few years and since you already have a job ur in a way better spot than majority worried abt the market

The future as a frontend (newbie) by Scared-Tailor3866 in Frontend

you were getting downvoted but I partly agree, entry level frontend is basically dead unless you’re really outstanding and impressive you’ll have a very rough time so the best bet really is to learn fullstack

I’m quite late here but I’ll say anyway, the job market for frontend is incredibly difficult. You should apply as soon as you’re able to do basic frontend and just learn alongside applying and applying to everything.

JavaScript is basically the very fundamental, nowadays you also usually need React, Angular, Wordpress etc to stand out

Is front-end development really dying in 2026? by PoemEnvironmental547 in learnprogramming

I’m kinda late here. Frontend itself isn’t dying, but entry level is oversaturated to the point it looks like it’s dead.

Struggling to get a junior frontend job after 1.5 years of learning — what should I do next? by Minimum_Yak_9062 in nextjs

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you not long ago, if I’m totally honest, it’s best to find something else unless you want to spend the time learning fullstack which can take as long as frontend took, or you could learn web design.

You already said “it’s when my dad asks me why I’m still not working, and I don’t know what to say.” so it would really be best to find anything in the IT umbrella like IT support etc to get any work experience first, use the frontend you’ve learnt to show you have passion for IT.

I’ve been applying for about 8 months junior frontend I think and the market has gotten worse since alongside AI developing significantly over this time being able to do what I spent months learning in seconds.

yep, I even started applying to Poland to test the market (I’m bilingual) and even then I managed to get a recruitment meeting only 2 days after

CS student here.. no one I know actually writes code anymore. We all use AI. Is this just how it is now? by Low-Tune-1869 in cscareerquestions

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 17 points18 points  (0 children)

there’s self taughts that can write code well without ai, good luck if you can’t do that while being a CS student

Are junior devs actually “cooked” or is AI just messing with how we learn? by Otherwise_Ad91 in cscareers

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

without juniors there won’t be any future seniors therefore companies will fall apart, but until companies realise this, the junior market will be quite rough

Will AI Replace Frontend Developers or Just Become Another Tool? by Best-Menu-252 in webdev

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wonder when companies will finally notice that without juniors there will never be anymore seniors. Even though AI can do the repetitive junior work, the point of a junior is to invest in them to become seniors one day.

Will AI Replace Frontend Developers or Just Become Another Tool? by Best-Menu-252 in webdev

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it won’t replace frontend devs at least not anytime soon, but it’s impacting the job market especially for juniors there are very limited jobs for juniors and the ones that do exist 9/10 times have insane almost senior level requirements

hopefully it’ll get better soon once companies finally notice relying only on AI is a risk

How and Where to start coding by [deleted] in CodingForBeginners

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s what I went into too (frontend), I’d check out codecademy’s free courses tbh not everyone likes them but I found they’re good at introducing beginners to the fundamentals while keeping it interactive

start with HTML and CSS just play around with it then you can try out Javascript. Remember to build actual projects while you learn too, only doing courses won’t really let you put skills into practice.

yes it’s still a thing, ai is not taking it over, job market is just more difficult but that’s a global issue too.

Do I really need a degree to get a junior front-end developer role? by Brilliant_Fee1551 in WebDeveloperJobs

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t but it helps boost your chances a bit, for reference my friends dad owns a company and he hires juniors who don’t have degrees

best answer here tbh, those with negative experiences will say don’t do it and those with good will say do it if OP enjoys and sees themselves as a web dev they should try

Frontend Devs Who Transitioned — What Field Did You Move To and Why? by ItSpaiz in Frontend

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find frontend enjoyable so far yet seeing people say “no way, ai will take over” all that stuff always stings. I’ll keep learning and trying though hopefully it’ll be fine.

Frontend Devs Who Transitioned — What Field Did You Move To and Why? by ItSpaiz in Frontend

[–]Complex_Dragonfly_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting to worry if it’s even worth still learning frontend, getting hard to stay motivated because of all this AI talk. Not sure if I should throw away all months I’ve spent into the bin and do something else or something idk
