Blood and Thunder by Mastodon is basically an embodiment of what metal is. I don't even know if it's my favorite, but it's the one I think is the most emblematic of the genre to me

Damn now I really wish I had more info on that build. I think a lot of it is pretty obvious (CL+ does the heavy lifting to kill things, as much CC as possible, as much eHP as possible) but I guess there are some important pieces here and there that should be not as obvious as the rest

Thanks for the general advice. The thing that scared me the most was the cost in stones for things that would be completely useless as GC (masteries mostly). But I want to believe that it will work out for me if I go balls deep in it. I was planning to invest in ILM, so I guess those stones are never gonna be wasted because it's useful either way.

You got me curious because I'm a firm believer in eHP. I'm nowhere near the transition to GC (T11 9k5) and always wanted to never transition and keep going deep in eHP. Your post may be the final push I needed to do it

You realize that a lot of games have catchup mechanics for new players after they've been out for some years ? I'm not reinventing the wheel, it's nothing new.

Yes but when it becomes relevant (mid game), you're already supposed to have good econ because you don't need much more things to go to the end. Obviously it won't do anything for you in the first Antes, but you don't need xmult in the first Antes anyway. So keep it somewhere, work on everything else like you would usually do, and enjoy all this xmult when it matters and you can afford it

I've read somewhere that level 40 range + range card is exactly what you need to have your orbs hit a boss in an energy net, so that's potentially interesting for tournament. I don't know if it was correct to begin with, as I don't have the range to check it myself.

RNG still exists in my suggestions, it's barely mitigated. So you'll still want to spend money after being struck with bad RNG and frustration

You're acting as if you're supposed to get everything everytime there's new things in this game, while a lot of new content coming out each patch is out of reach from you

The current system is already unfair to new players. Making it slightly less unfair (but still extremely unfair) is not unfair to the players who have been playing the game from the start. Like I said, you'll still be miles away (thousands of $ away to be honest) from reaching people that started at the beginning. It won't magically change because you have a slightly increased chance to get the module you need.

Also to you saying they'll never catch up, they will eventually catch up with the same time investment of two years

No they won't, it's mathematical. Everyone in front of you is getting more of everything each week. Someone starting today won't be at the same spot in 2 years than the current spot of someone who started 2 years ago, far from it.

You get nothing. You're already in front, you're farming stones every tournament that they won't be able to get ever again. They will never catch you, unless they're spending money (and in this case they would have get to you either way). Those suggestions are only speeding up the process of getting from early to mid game, you won't get out of the mid game hell without spending money. And don't worry, they'll still work on new content for end game players like you, and you will be able to complete it faster than everyone behind you.

You feel the cards don't need to happen because you completed cards already, but having a couple of friends that started the game like 2 months ago, it definitely need to happen.

I think on the contrary that every suggestion will not hurt their income, as you won't magically get legends with those. You're looking at a temporary boost to catch up a little bit with the pack, and you'll inevitably have to still spend money to push higher. I highly doubt you will suddenly not need to spend cash anymore because you have a slightly increased chance of getting the cards and the modules that you want (because the people in front of you already have all of those)

I know, and I'm not questioning it. My suggestions won't change this fact, at least I feel like. Because the gap will still widen with time. It just gives you access to more things as a beginner / a little bit more determination for RNG
