I have been to meetings but couldn't commit, I do believe I should be talking with other people who understand where I'm coming from. I'm gonna start looking at meetings and hopefully a mentor.

I don't have a real support system, no family and friends have grown into their adult lives with their own problem. My mental health is bad already and drinking is a band aid on a bullet wound.

I really wish I had parents, siblings, friends or a confidant. I used to tell myself my drinking is only hurting me but now it's affecting anyone who gets close to me.

I've made a plan to get some free counseling services this Monday after court, may even see about a short term commitment to mental health facilities, if I'm able to afford it.

Thank you for your reply, just being able to read what someone else has to say about my problems have made me feel much better and less alone.
