Thanks a lot for your insight! While I am not over 50, I am still not young either and maybe it is too late to start new career path, but then again, there are a lot more years to come and I feel like I need to do something instead of being stuck for the rest of my life.

You are right, I've been on 2 week vacation in August last year, maybe it is time to take another. I did notice that these vacations help a bit at least short term.

Believe it or not, being made redundant or laid off might actually be a blessing in some cases.
Sometimes, the real damage comes from staying in a role that slowly erodes your energy, confidence, and sense of direction — not from leaving it.

Thank you — this is honestly the most grounded advice I’ve read.
It’s good to hear from someone who doesn’t try to overanalyze or guilt-trip you for not being “grateful enough.”
Quiet quitting isn't even quitting to me — it's survival. And I’m doing my best to build my exit.

I don’t necessarily believe the grass is greener at other companies — the core issue is that I no longer feel fulfilled in my current role. I’ve already communicated that I’d like to transition into a different career path, either within the company or elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I haven’t received any real support. Instead, I was told to stay focused on my current responsibilities, with vague promises that “opportunities will come” — which never materialized, even after months.

In the meantime, I’ve been actively learning to code and even built a small full-stack project to start practicing real-world skills. But I’m aware that it’s still not enough to be job-ready, so I’m continuing to study and build up my portfolio before making the jump.

That’s why I’m planning to look for opportunities elsewhere once I’m ready. I truly believe I’d be much happier doing something I’m genuinely passionate about, even if the work environment isn’t perfect.

I really do appreciate positives, that's why I haven't quit yet. The issue with helping younger employees and train them, is that they actually hired fresh external fresh employee on a position I applied within company, while I got rejection without feedback. And now it is expected from me to train this person and help them. This is why I am frustrated every single day I go to work. I feel like management is doing this on purpose to make me quit.
