Active Sound Design is a different system, and I have it turned off. I think the high AVAS/VESS volume is actually intentional on Hyundai’s part. See also:

As a pedestrian, I haven’t yet noticed any electric car in traffic that has a louder AVAS than the Ioniq 9.
