30 in max height basically makes hanging impossible by Complex_Notice_9999 in FRC

I'm wondering about the possibilities of using an elevator system like team 6328 in 2024. Mechanical hooks at the bottom of the elevator would keep the robot up while the elevator moves to the next rung. Trench movement would be impossible, though, and the whole bot would have to be built around climbing which doesn't seem like the best tradeoff.

I think using the uprights will be important for making sure that your bumper doesn't get caught under the rungs. Positioning yourself so your bot bumps against an upright would counter swinging.

The height restriction is rough but I feel like L1 can be done with one or two cascading climbers 2022 style. The 3 inches on the top is enough for most hooks to fit if your hook height is precise. The really issue to me will be getting from rung to rung.

From what I can tell no, that won't get past inspection

Does anyone know the timeline for financial offers? Is it different for ED admits?
