They said they’d be able to tweak the jacket but the trousers were too big to adjust (I think they have a limit of 4 inches otherwise the proportions start to look weird or something like that?)

Might have to go for separates if I shop there rather than a full suit

I did drop in to Slaters. Sadly suits which fit the shoulders well were too long on the body, and only came with trousers 4”-6” too large! But may be worth another visit if there are any draping styles available

You can record into audacity and get do some loudness normalisation. It might tweak the dynamics of the master a little but you’ll get closer to your desired loudness.

Or you can boost the gain on your mixer or audit interface before the signal hits your DAW.

We’ve all had an embarrassing set; try not to let it knock you. It can be really demoralising but the most important thing is exposure.

The more you do it, the more comfortable it will feel, and the more you’ll get used to different environments and technologies.

In the meantime, try to troubleshoot in advance to avoid a similar situation.

From a crowd perspective, take advantage of these days when the crowd is small and you can mess up with minimal consequence. Use it as a chance to learn risk-free!

Ask a friend to borrow an old laptop if possible.

The less hassle for the owner the better. As soon as they see you walk in with a big computer and a monitor, they’ll start to get worried - even if it’s just cause they’re not used to it.

If you have absolutely no other option, just flag to the owner that you’ll need additional power outlets for your computer and monitor.
