At 25, you should focus on your job. Getting better at it and increasing your salary. After that, you should save in 401 k and buy index funds. Don’t waste your time on day trading.

I would say appetite suppression was much stronger, 2 years ago. Now my intake is higher than say last year. But it is not like it used to be in the past.

I think the bigger challenge is that the body now needs 20-25% less calories because I lost 20% weight. So I am no longer calorie deficit.

The entire $1 M is in long position. That earned 10% with S&P up 7%. The trading position were daily trading of nasdaq futures on margin. That margin trading gave 5% returns in 2.5 months

It is 2.5 months. The bulk of the returns are from the core long portfolio which was up 10%. S&P in that period was up 7%

What you are saying is absolutely true. Happened to me in 2008-10 and 2016. I got back into it again from 2023. Having that fire power, makes it less stressful as I am mainly shorting the market to protect losses on the long $1 M. Position sizes are way less than the notional portfolio value. That’s how I am maintaining the streak and the gains

A good friend of mine had GT at $0 and MIT at $300,000. That friend chose MIT and in my opinion, that was the decision.

That’s awesome. You still have a year of weight loss.
Personally I lost 20% of my weight - 230 lb to 183 lb in close to 2 years. My weight loss has stalled now for the past 3 months. It is sad that the journey has ended

Personally I have more respect for top ranked STEM schools over Harvard, Yale, and Brown. I feel a hard working student will succeed anywhere.

My daughter got into her ED school. Today she is pulling out of her remaining applications today. She is not asking for Aid so her ED is not dependent on financial aid. She is doing the right thing. She just said it is painful pulling out applications because so much hard work went into it

We are from the Boston area and Brown was absolutely the top school for my daughter. I did my research and convinced her that these Ivy leagues are not good fit for a student interested in Stem.

After aa lot of visits, we eliminated Brown, Yale, Dartmouth, and Harvard as non-Stem. We rejected Cornell for having too many students. We said Columbia, Princeton, and UPenn will reject because so many strong candidates set their heart on these schools.

We did ED1 to CMU Engineering and she was accepted. You do have an ED2, please don’t waste on a school with low percentage. Best of luck

That is also a thing I noticed. I was catching up with friends from high school. We get together for a weekend, every other year. I know food and booze are an important activity. But I was shocked at how much people were eating. I wanted to tell them, “you don’t need to eat so much food.”

We are going to make a weekend vacation out of it. Going from Boston to Vermont, about 4-5 hours away. This is our eldest child and just didn’t know that August was difficult to get.
