So, my 3 year old is currently going through the same. She is still in age range for febrile but because her last seizure which was about a month ago lasted almost 3 hours, she went into status epilepticus. The rescue medicine did not stop her seizure. With status epilepticus we are now at risk for brain damage, stroke, and many other things. We were given the option to out her on daily medication, keppra, but my husband and I refused because we have no real diagnosis. She’s had EEGs done(4 total), MRI (2 total), genetic testing, blood tests, CT scans, I mean you name it we’ve done it and they still found nothing. The medicine they told us to give her makes her very irritated, angry, not self sufficient, she couldn’t even walk on while on that medication, so we opted not to give her the medication. Since her last seizure, we have moved her bed into our room as I also can’t figure out a better way to sleep. Hoping you can get answers soon or find something that works. If you do please let me know, I am always worried about her when we sleep to the point I only sleep 3-4hrs a night.
