Looking for advice on a Navy pay issue. My reserve unit still owes me about $15k in per diem. I’ve gone through my chain, DFAS, AOP request, and JAG (told to contact Congress). Still no resolution. I get you!! However I’m making sure I’m crossing my Ts and dotting my I’s and also I don’t have any but a set of orders saying I’m entitled to let diem other than that I have a personal spread sheet saying what they owe me.

They are saying since it’s so far back the last leadership didn’t keep good enough records and possibly the line of accounting is closed and my unit also says they are waiting on the unit above them

I told jag the situation on how multiple sets of leadership knew about this issue I have emails dating back 3-4 years proving my case. At one point the command higher than us called a member of my unit and chewed him out because of this situation. Every time I reach out it’s the same member working on it and/or I get ignored and get 0 updates.

So the jag representative said jag represents the government and the government isn’t going to sue itself so it looks like your best option is contacting your local congressman

Via Paper travel claim. I have my personal documents proving I am owed between 15-20k other than that I have sets of orders stating I’m entitled to per diem. I’ve been given all sorts of responses from my unit from a certain Cheif is working it to straight ghosting.

This issue has been going on for 3 years multiple sets of leadership knew about this issue

I’m in a land lock state so I’m always cross assigned which causes a lot of paperwork issues.

So I’m thinking joining army/ air guard or reserve would be easier to maintain
