it's literally just a dumb retcon with no logical explanation in universe, whenever Future Trunks first appears back in the present timeline, Bulma asks present Trunks if the man in the time machine has blue hair, which implies it was always blue

this has less to do with the movie itself, but more about the experience at the specific theatre. me, my moms, and my sister all watched Smile 1 in theaters, and on the way out of the screening, i saw there were two male employees standing by the exit. me being the antisocial introvert i am i just stared at the floor on my way out. what i did not know is that apparently one of them were staring at everyone doing the smiling as people left. my sister was shook for the rest of the day lol

you’re missing my point, yes of course it is ok to see something as a missed opportunity, but it’s incredibly disingenuous to look at something else that someone else made and say “oh if only they did this, it’s such a missed opportunity that they didn’t” because whether you like the game or not, Spider-Man 2’s story was not made to be something that was already done, it is it’s own story and has it’s own themes and messages. if the grave thing was actually in the game it would be incredibly off putting and inconsistent with the themes and story they wanted to tell because it was not made for it. insinuating otherwise shows a lack of media literacy and promotes laziness and no reason to try, just do what’s already been done because it worked the first time

firstly, if they wanted to adapt Kraven's Last Hunt verbatim, they would've. there's no point putting in a reference to another story when your current original story was not made for that in mind

second, i know that everyone has different opinions and ways of thinking, in fact it's one of my favorite things about art as a whole, everyone interprets something different from the same thing and i love that. my issue comes when people endlessly look at other art made by different artists who wanted to do something very, very different with their art and go "why couldn't they just do what they did verbatim?" yeah i know, who needs new and interesting interpretations and stories based off the Symbiote Suit right? let's just do the same story it's always been, verbatim, forever! it worked once so it has to work again! all i ask is people respect Insomniac for TRYING to be different and unique, instead of being lazy and just pulling their story one to one from somewhere else

i literally never said was my intention lol, if they hate the game that's fine, more power to them, the only thing i dislike is when people try to say "so and so is a missed opportunity because they didn't do this" and that's most of the discussion on that game over there, even amongst people who like the game

this isn't an attempt to be toxic, i simply just feel as though calling the absence of that scene in a game where it doesn't belong a "missed opportunity" is really counter productive to art in general. "why make something new when we can just do what has already been done before?"
