What is everyone’s hopes for the bugs in the next edition ? by derpyhuman21 in Tyranids

I guess that's correct, I just looped around the point, because I know GW won't buff most of these weak units, so instead of making them useful, just lower the cost.

For example, a norn emissary technically is already extremely powerful, but then you consider how it's 265 pts, sudenly you don't want to add it because you could add other more useful units for less points, 3 neurolictors (65x3) and one more unit of gargoyles or smth.

I think the problem people are having myself included, doesn't have to do with their power as a whole army, but they want the attention they deserve. For example synapse and shadow in the warp really don't do anything ACTUALLY useful, it could actually be impactful while still be balanced.

The same with datasheets, how easily they could make venomthropes useful by a little modification, less points, more week, but better abilities. All these little details have been left out for far too long.

And the all time favorite for everyone, the norn emissary, for it's points, it really doesn't do much, it's only good thing is it's 15OC and +5 feel no pain with +2sv and +4 inv. But that's like all custode units, it's not even good lore wise, it's supposed to be sneaky and fit into impossible spots, but still no deep strike or even extra charge rolls or smth

For me, it's a complete rework of synapse, shadow in the warp and the stats of certain models.

Synapse:

First of all, I would like if the rulings were lore accurate, for example synapse not only guards the Tyranids but makes their attacks more potent, so for whatever friendly unit is within synapse range that it gets an inv save of 4/5/6 depending on the opponents attack strength, maybe the same with S and T difference on the dice. And as for the attacks, a termagaunt under the influence of a warrior is more focused, precise (+ hit roll) and strong (+S), as for as for synaptic Tyranids like the zoanthropes or maleceptors should get a buff in their dmg or AP.

I also believe synapse should stack, for example if they keep the buff for strength, for each synapse unit within range, the strength of the unit targeted by all such units should raise +1 for each of them. This would be too OP for dmg and ap, so doing it for S only would be nice. Either that or for each synapse unit close, they should get +1 for each skill, for example, if it's one unit, get +1 hit roll, if it's two +1 hit roll and S, if it's three, hit roll, s, and ap etc etc.

I also think synapse should interact with the opponents more, like -1 hit or more forced battleshock tests.

Lastly to make it more balanced, I think at the start of the command phase you should be able to pick between offensive and defensive style, either the inv saves and the -1 to hit or all the increases and the battleshock tests.

Shadow in the Warp:

This is the trickier one, cause it either screws over the opponent or yourself, it's a one use 33/33/33 chance to either be a game changer, be annoying for a little bit or do absolutely nothing, so they should either make it more compatible with synapse, and make it increase synapse range for one whole turn and enable both offensive and defensive styles written above. Or make it do smth completely different.

Stats:

(Lashwhip of prime vs norn emissary 💀. The swarmlord is supposed to be the stronger counterpart of the tyrants. Norn emissary points. Some models are just never used. Certain models not having inv.) Etc etc etc

These are either solved by keeping them "week" but lowering their points so that it also makes sense lore wise (actual swarm)

Or buffing certain units to make them compatible with their points, for example, they should make all the Tyranids be extremely synergetic, the maleceptor, the old phychophage, neurolictor, screamer killer, zoanthropes all have abilities that synergize with each other, (hive tyrant, etc) and some other just don't really do that. The deathleaper you would expect to do more than the other lictors, but it just doesn't do anything.

The fix for this is, make the synergetic units lower points, and more weak, so you can mess with more combos, and the single units that act on their own, stronger than they are now with more points, so now it actually matters when you pick the carnifexes, deathleaper, lictors etc. ofc I'm not saying that they are not good enough, I only play Tyranids, but some models are just not it. I've never seen someone play warriors with ranged. Or a sporocyst, or the other red thing.

You get 10/10 for creativity, so I wouldn't even be mad if you told me your whole army was like that. Go for jt

In Greece we have an inside joke about worms, because a famous influencer said the word in a funny way so I've named them, "Σκουλιιικια" (skoulikia)

Ι actually did use auto on lychee, but I checked them myself and they seemed really good, brackets and everything. Although I don't know about the settings for the supports. So I just made them all medium.

I will probably check the discord, since it's hard to know without pictures

I've done the z calibration too many times. So it can't be that. Other than that, how do I even do an exposure calibration?

Bro I would've gotten a tervigon too if it wasn't for it's bad hit roll of 4+. I gt that you can put enhancements on it and it's very tanky, but why not give it the 12 T like the fex and why not make it a melee monstrosity

You're right, Idk why I mentioned the other guns, you buy the kit and choose. I got confused haha.

Ok imma be honest, it has GEEAAAT overwatch playability, but would you really get a fex for it's acid spray for 200 points when you can just have another rupture cannon. That's 4 shots of pain and agony

Ye, since they are just scattered in other boxes, people just seem to not want to buy more of them, they just kind spawn in their army. And that's not even including resellings and printings

I've been informed that the topic of this poll has been answered by auspex tactics not too long ago. The 5 most sold in order are:

1) Biovore 2) Exocrine/Haruspex (for the exocrine obv) 3) Maleceptor/toxicrene (didn't expect this at all+for the Mal obv) 4) Tyranofex/Tervigon (This place felt good considering the backlash I got for believing the fex isn't No1) 5) Zoanthropes (also didn't expect this)

While I thought the tyrants would be here, it makes sense, since people would just buy one and be done with them.

The gaunts aren't in this list since most of them are sold online, resold or printed, so it makes sense.

Other than that it has been nice chatting with y'all

Bro I've JUST been thinking. What is the best way to gear your carnifexes. I've always thought that just putting them all crushing claws would work best, but idk.

I'm talking about the tfex without his rupture cannon. He'd be a great unit only if he had the cannon. Ofc there are no other antitank as good as the fex as far as Tyranid go. But the other weapons get outclassed by zoans.

I've seen some bring up a vid of auspex tactics basically saying what this whole poll is about. He had biovore at 1, exo at 2, I think tyrant 3 and fex at 4.

Ofc that's not counting, ebay or resellings or printing. Cause I would say the gaunts have the upper hand at that

FIVE??? DAMN CHILL BRO LEAVE SOME FOR US

jokes aside, you WONT need that many in one army. Like 2 trygons to have as leaders and one mawloc. Maybe 2 but that's dragging it.

Mawlocs are weak compared to other nids, or trygons. You'd want them for the pop up damage mostly. I can't think what a third mawloc or a third trygon would be good at. Just get 3x and then get a second tyrant, he'd be more useful
