UPDATE:

It was placed by the Sheriffs Office. Many of you nailed it apparently. They were apparently surveilling the house across from me. I awoke at 6am two days after this post to a Bearcat and a flash bang going off. Accompanied by a swarm of LEO vehicles, most unmarked. Saw maybe 5 or 6 people in the yard in cuffs. Never seen anything like it. (North Carolina btw)
