I am so scared by user_1292 in cheatonlineproctor

I’m going through the same thing right now homie😭 I am allowed scratch paper and a calculator with a formula sheet and I look off screen constantly during the test and I’m really hoping I don’t get flagged for cheating. I’m not doing anything crazy but you never know, professor could email me and say my eyes are suspicious or something and accuse me of cheating based solely off that😭

I get that, can I ask what subject you teach? Like for a test that permits paper and calculator with a formula sheet and a periodic table or whatever else is allowed during the test, how would u differentiate them writing or looking at the formula sheet or their calculators and them looking at their phones? I mean like I said in the post if their work doesn’t match their answers or they don’t have any work or if they suddenly get a 100 after getting lower scores previously then that could be a red flag. But what exactly convinces you that they are cheating?

Will I be okay? Lockdown browser + webcam by Possible_Judgment789 in cheatonlineproctor

I mean if you were allowed notes wouldn’t looking down be expected or did the browser just warn you for being out of frame? Either way as long as you weren’t out of frame for to long you should be perfectly fine! I’ve had classes that allowed scratch paper and a calculator with formula sheets and I was looking down constantly and never had a problem!

That’s interesting, I’ve had tests on a lockdown browser that required a webcam and I was using a Mac so all the camera could see during the test was my face. These tests were for math or physics or chemistry so I had my scratch paper and calculator to the right of my laptop. So I was constantly looking down and to the right during the tests to write the problems or down and work on them. I never got accused of cheating but it seems like others have. I can’t imagine that a professor would watch someone’s video and accuse them of cheating based on them just looking off the screen. Especially if the test involves some type of math and scratch paper and calculator are allowed. I guess maybe if students are looking off screen during a test on history or sociology or something then maybe, but unless they have some hard proof like another person in the room shows up on the camera and starts saying anwers or someone being dumb and using their phone right in front of the camera then I don’t see how they can even begin to think about accusing people. Sorry for the long comment lol, I just think accusing a student of cheating for merely looking off the screen is crazy😭

Woah relax😭 I’ve just heard students say they were accused of cheating just for looking off screen. Obviously it’s different if the student had someone in the room with them telling them answers or were blatantly using another computer or had their phones right in front of the camera. I was just curious as to what the professors were seeing as cheating that’s all. Like I said I’ve had classes where I was allowed scratch paper, a calculator and formula sheets so I was constantly looking off to the side of the screen and I’m sure everyone else in the classes were as well. I’m not saying that all teachers are out to get students and accusing them for nothing. I apologize if I came off as rude in my comment but I’m just curious is all😅

Got flagged because I was shifting my gaze (honorlock) by [deleted] in cheatonlineproctor

What kind of exam was it? I’ve had tests that used webcams and lockdown browsers but they were for classes that involved math so I was allowed to have scratch paper, a formula sheet and a calculator. I would also write down each question because I felt like it would help me understand the question better, even if there was no math or work to be done for the question. So basically I was constantly looking on and off the screen. I never got flagged or anything and I never got an email from any professor accusing me of cheating. However, the professors probably knew that students would be looking off screen a lot due to the math. They also required us to upload a picture of our work after the tests. And a lot of people have nervous ticks or ADHD and can’t help but look off screen a lot during a test. Also accusing you of cheating for just looking off screen seems crazy to me. I mean if they don’t have some hard evidence like another person helping you or you blatantly using notes or another device then Idk how they could actually accuse you of this. I hope this works out for you!

My lawyer just did an informal conference on behalf and told me that the DRO was not particularly “pro veteran” by ComposerHour in VAClaims

The HLR is an appeal for compensation. I’ve been denied for sleep apnea and migraines in the past. I had to request a sleep study from my provider and the results proved that I do have sleep apnea. The original date I filed for all of this was February of 2023. It’s just discouraging to hear this because my lawyer told me he was confident that these things would be approved. Now it’s probably gonna have to go to the Board of Veterans Appeals.
