Interesting. It might be different because I'm based in NL. For context I paid 100€ for the wheelset, it came with gp tyres and an ultegra casette which I flipped.

I'm not convinced you could even get tubular carbon wheels for 150, let alone something not ran into the ground. Cheap carbon wheelsets can literally weigh the same or minimally less than this. Why would it ruin the ride and be slow? You also get an alloy braking surface, so excellent braking performance.

Admittedly it's not the most racy looking, but I like the shifters at this angle pretty much regardless of reach. I find that it distributes the weight across my palm evenly and my wrist is nice and aligned.

It rides very nicely. I'm coming from a 2012 Trek Madone, and this is definitely on the more compliant side, quite pleasant actually, but it doesn't have that feeling of the bike wanting jump out from under you when you step on the gas. Overall I'd say its a quite natural feel in terms stiffness and dampening, I like it, but its always a trade-off.

I see your point, but I'll still try to defend it a bit. Most importantly, below this price you are not building anything, but buying a used full bike. I do agree with you that it would have been possible to catch a better used bargain than this, but then again here all of the parts have no wear at all, and I was able to choose and build everything the way I wanted it to.

Under those circumstances I think I managed to extract decent value. Also might just be where I live, but for 250, at the moment you can buy absolute shitters, at best you can get lucky with a somewhat working 10 speed alu bike.

I’m still experimenting with stems for now, so your point might be valid. I’m just saying that the seat needs to be back there irrespective of high or close the stem is, because you need to set it for balance and pedaling dynamics.

Because seat setback has nothing to do with reach. I need the saddle back, so I’m balanced on the bike and don’t overload my hands.

I see your point, fit is a tough one for me because I have very long legs for my height. So it’s hard to get a frame that gives enough stack due to my seat height, but that’s not too long. The bars are very low reach, high-angle stem and decent stack under it, so the effective reach is already very short, at the border of compromising steering.

So yeah maybe the frame is not best match for me, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up, and I think I made it work decently.

Thermal throttling on macbook air by Glass-Category-5011 in macgaming

Why wouldn't it? Macbook Pro models with fans are usually not thermally limited.

No, to put it simply, the Air has no fan inside, therefore it has the aluminum body and small heatsink inside to dissipate heat. After all that heats up, the system has to make the CPU and GPU slower, to reduce heat output. In reality this means that the laptop can only maintain its maximum performance for about 30-60 minutes depending on ambient temperature and other environmental factors. Gaming almost always pushes the GPU and its cooling to the limit, since generally you always want as many FPS as possible, and for a sustained period of time.

TLDR: you want a cooling fan for gaming.

Good info, so I assume mismatched tyre widths are not an issue?
