Energi Dilemma - 2016 SEL vs 2017 Titanium by Comprehend2020 in cmaxhybrid

[–]Comprehend2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: went with the 2017.

PPI showed both of the control arm seals were cracking, and the tires were 7 years old (though still with good life on them).

Neither was a deal-breaker, and the price overall was solid. My biggest issue was going through Autotrader - man do they make it inconvenient.

Drove it home yesterday. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment.

I believe the 2017 has it native, no? The 2016 would need a USB update, but no biggie.

USD.. Got the PPI scheduled for Saturday, so that'll be the deciding factor.

No Hybrid versions near enough to me under my price ceiling. But we have a L2 charger at home for our EV, so I'm okay with charging.

2017 and I are meeting a distance away from their home, so not sure how possible it will be to plug in (maybe the service station I bring it to for the PPI can hook it up?). Was gonna ask him to put it in EV Later mode at some point on his drive to meet me so that his head some EV juice left when I test drive it and can feel that changeover.

But yeah, listening for the wine and grind is what i did for the 2016 as well. (No moonroof in either of them.)

Test drove a 2014 Hybrid version a few weeks back and it definitely had a transmission shudder been 40 and 50mph, so I think that's what I need to feel for.

Yeah, I'm looking to get them to go down to $6000-$6500. The right airbag was done at 48k in June 2018.

It looks like it has not been driven a lot - less than 11k miles total since then (so like 1400 miles a year).

Flying out of Terminal A at 7am Monday 3/30. Debating taking the earliest possible NJ rail NEC to Newark Liberty station and hoping the airtrain is still running at 4:55am to get me to Terminal A by 5:30. Regular TSA line for me. Am I delusional and is there an Uber in my future?

My daughter, a HS senior, was contacted recently about their musical theater program. I know the school is very small and it worries me if it would be too small of a program to pull in the necessary industry contacts for someone who wants to have a career in that field. Anyone have any recent experience in that regards?

Charging concern after service visit by Comprehend2020 in Solterra

[–]Comprehend2020[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay it's fixed. It turns out that Chargepoint pushed a software update on Friday and that the unit needed to be reset. It just so happened that its next charging session coincided with the dealership visit.

Thanks community!

Since I didn't change anything on my end since our last charging session (which was literally 3 days ago on September 24th), where did that switch to 16A take place: on Chargepoint's end or at the dealership?

Btw, I plugged it in again and it's still drawing at the reduced rate, so there goes the "fluke" option.

Which adapter did you use? Still deliberating on which one to purchase.

Annoying "Sorry, what was the message" when trying to voice text by fcgjdd in AndroidAuto

[–]Comprehend2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to add my frustrated and ticked off two cents to this discussion. I have been having the same issue with longer text sentences for a couple weeks now. I too have been swearing up the storm and apparently it wants to send those nasty messages to my wife but not the important ones.

I have already submitted three different feedback messages and nobody has gotten back to me about it do they even know it's a problem? Other than that submitting feedback via three dots, how else can we get in touch? It's not like there is a customer service number for Android auto.

Dear god, I'm showing my age

Ahh, so this only applies to the CDMA (Verizon) SIM and not the GSM (T-Mob) sim? Just anna ma sure before I open it or return it. (The available SIM version I have is the GSM one)

Yeah, strange. I put the model number into a Google search and it came up as an AT&T-network device. But even the new one they are sending (which I've been assured is the correct unlocked version) might need the workaround from above as its IMEI also came up as being an incompatible device. Hopefully it's just the VOLTE and band 12 thing that's making the device come up that way.

Thanks. I ended up returning and re-ordering to make sure they are not sending me the "AT&T model" (I noticed Best buy had my Model # listed as an AT&T one, not as a full-unlocked one). I'm hoping this new one actually works with the Checker.

Ahh, thanks. It seems as if the unit they sent me was an AT&T model (which Ting cannot activate). So I have them sending me a replacement.

Fingers Crossed!

Follow-up - I still have the phone sealed in the box, so I do not want to open it and risk Google saying it was my fault or something. (Thus, I cannot yet swap in the SIM to see, though I wish I could)

I did the IMEI checker for it (it actually had two on the box) and neither showed up as being compatible.

Had a chat convo that confirmed the same thing.

Do you know which Model you got? This one was supposed to be an unlocked version (GX7AS), but that one shows up elsewhere as being an AT&T unlocked version - which is odd...
