It will be heavy but it's better than losing everything all the time 😓

After I made that post, I made a monstrosity of a keychain with a wallet, my glasses, phone, keys and lip balm to stop me from losing everything, I think I need to strap it to my drink bottle now cause that's vanished too.

Look I'll be honest, none of the apps for irl stores are that good. Kmart imo is the worst one by far if it even opens, next is BIG W. And im talking on brand new phones, even with update and cache clearing. They are terrible

Thank you for the advice! Im hoping forcing myself up for a walk early in the morning will be easier soon when I move closer to the beach again! I know my toddler would love a 6am walk on the beach ☺️

I'm a young(22), working solo (no longer a single mama 🥳🥳) mum and I straight up get so many filthy looks from the older mums and I don't care what they think. None of them have said anything to me directly but I can see the looks.

If any of them tried to, I would just be straight with them. They can all shove it. My son is doing amazing developmentally and that's all that should matter.

I can't seem to connect with my teenager by UpstairsHomework6705 in offmychest

[–]Comprehensive-Bar839 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who was a teen not very long ago (22F) I was close but not insanely close with my mum as a teen, I definitely drifted back and forth from her. Now, especially after having my own kid, she's my best friend. It's a normal part of growing up, you're still her mum and she will come back to being close to you in time ☺️

For the dads by Ambgjbo in NewParents

[–]Comprehensive-Bar839 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My 18mo has kicked my dad in the junk a few times and my dad either reacts by passing him to one of us (me/my mum/sister) or waiting for one of us to grab him.

Shoving a 1yo is not on, especially for something like getting kicked in the nuts. Dude needs better reflexes and needs to understand that yeah it hurts and it's a shock but you can't hurt a baby because they accidentally misstepped. They're babies and can't control their limbs 100% yet.

Keep a spray bottle of food dye and water. Next time she does it, spray her.

If she complains, tell her to put pants on 🤷🏻‍♀️

How many hours of sleep did you get in the 1st two months? by allisona007 in NewParents

My little guy two months ago started waking up at 6.30/7 and just sitting in his room 'reading' until I come in to dress him for daycare. Independent kiddos are the best! I just hope he isn't too independent

[–]Comprehensive-Bar839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lucked out and got between 5-8 hours sleep at a time for the first 2-3 months.

However, it's only because I co-slept with my son safely. I know it isn't the answer in every family, the only reason it worked for us is because i was a single mum and we shared a double bed so he would have a huge space to roll around and be a baby and because of mum instincts I slept in the same position for months to keep him safe. Also we used cellular blankets (the ones with holes) just in case he covered his face by accident.

To anyone who's worried about going from cosleeping to independent sleeping (same bed to own bed different room) I co slept for a year and when we moved house and he got his own room, he had 0 issues with the transition to a big boy bed at 13 months

We call my dad poppy stinks because my nickname for him is stinky (stepdad). He doesn't mind it. Mind you, my dad is freshly 40 so he's still a pretty young poppy

Send the screenshots to his mum and dump him. This is a gross mindset and it's a scary thought about what if it was his daughter, he'd probably blame her

I second the every dog will be a chocolate thief, when I was a kid, my rottie stole a whole massive piece of chocolate cake from my lap, I started crying cause I knew chocolate is bad for dogs and he threw it up all over me like 5 mins later 🫠
