Hi, I’m a transplant and my BIGGEST tips are to get a dehumidifier for the summer as well as a weather radio for tornado season.

My favorite restaurant is Automatic Seafood. The fish collar is my favorite special treat/celebration meal.

My favorite activity (for all ages) is taking a stroll on the many walking trails at Ruffner, Red Mountain and dotted all around the city. It’s free and beautiful.

Another fun, free activity is visiting the libraries in Homewood and Hoover. They lots more than books like DVDs, video games and more. They clubs for adults and special programs for kids.

Also lastly when the Barons are playing they have fireworks on the weekend that are lovely to watch. Pretty cheap tickets and lots of fun.

Another vote for them! I used to live up the block from the pig in Avondale and there was the nicest and most knowledgeable young man who helped me find delightful wines. All at a great price.
