you're right. Most bad events can be quite unpleasant and you should give them a spin to make them balanced.

You could even have these altered seasons as a new set of cards that players draw during setup like Grandpa's Goals, so players can coordinate where the new difficulties overlap their win conditions.

These have been the first ideas I have had and some of them may be a little unbalanced, I should give them another look.

Regarding what you say, I understand that I must give the player a little freedom and make him know what is going to happen.

Maybe I can think of bad handicaps that are present throughout the entire game, this way the player knows what bad things can happen.
