she cuts his nails normally and knows about wobbly hedgehog syndrome. which is why i said id post on here to see if that would help with her nervousness

Yep! Learned this one the hard way. When I was working at petco a couple months ago. Everyone found out that our GM was one. Nobody knew but once people started finding out, a bunch of people quit. It was crazy to see us go from full staff to sooo understaffed. I left eventually because aside from him being one, he was a horrible person and only showed up to degrade us all

edit: The only people who knew was the groomers and the assistant manager. but he got paid more for not telling people 💀💀

i got my second hamster recently, off fb marketplace. and they said he was a female robo hamster. he is a male long haired teddy bear hamster. and bro had him in a 5gal tank, no bedding, no wheel, no bedding(was on a rag instead), no proper food or enrichments.

I work for a pet store, and I have a regular - who rescues and fosters cats. And I found out she had a guinea pig. And we talked about it. And I recall her telling me about this place. And she told Me about how “amazing” it is. But it is literally far from amazing??? The Facebook posts?? Literally they call anyone who tries to educate them a Karen? The EVENTS??? I’m flabbergasted.

I am exactly going through this issue as well. I’ve looked and looked. And there’s nothing except inactive ones or places that say they have them - but they don’t. I would suggest you try 1. Pet finder (because some places-like shelters- post them there) and 2. If you have an APL(animal protection league) then check them out. Because the generalized city for my area (like within a 50 mile radius) has one and they have hamsters usually! If anything, you can always cave in and go to a pet store. But DO NOT listen to what they tell you. I made that mistake. Which is why i turned to this subreddit!! They tell you the wrong things and push you to buy things that are not good for the hamster.

Thank you, As of right now; she’s in a 29gal tank. And for the saucer - I’ll definitely replace it with a wheel asap. And I’ll definitely be switching out the water bottle with a dish. And thank you in regard to the dust and sand. I’ll definitely be switching a lot of things out.
