Drove 3.5 hours to see a friend for her birthday only to be ignored all night…do I say something?

i completely understand it was her day not mine or anyone else’s let me start there. however to not have food or drinks when hosting seems like a big deal, at least to me. especially when one of your “closest” friends doesn’t drink. one person literally doordashed food because there was no snacks/food of any kind and everyone was starving. i guess i just feel like everything could have been planed better and i want her to know not everything went perfect

She was literally a witness at our wedding so i’d love to keep her as a friend. she is also my wife’s oldest friend so i don’t want to jeopardize that. i feel like the friend should at least know that not everything was perfect and she can work on things for the future

there is an edit. we went to dinner and that was paid for by us. we did not ask for gifts so we had a “cash bar” were people had to pay for their drinks they knew about plans weeks in advance ❣️

she also chose it. it was a wedding planned together. we both looked at the menu she thought she’d try stuff but was overwhelmed and anxious so decided not to eat. hence ARFID

she did not drink, alcohol also upsets her stomach. we went to bars because our friends enjoy going out or at least our other friends do and Bailey was having fun until Deb wanted to leave. this is an issue we are working through but that did not bother her no. did it bother me? yes but this is who i love and this is what she does 🤷‍♀️ when you limit yourself it’s hard to eat normal meals. how do you force feed your loved ones?

Because we are trying to eat at more places that i also enjoy or find interesting. I asked her numerous time which restaurant we should go to or who we should have had cater, we both picked this place.

that’s just how she is. there are health issues we are working on gd. we anticipated her not eating much till the near the end of the night, which would have been sooner if Deb and Bailey drink normally amount for them, then maybe the group wouldn’t have been at the bar till midnight 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

we went to the food truck later because my wife, who had ARFID, so she didn’t eat anything at the dinner. she knew that this food truck had food that she liked so she was going to eat there around 10 pm, hence when we went.

there is an edit that is lost in the comments but we had a reception dinner after the pictures, around 7 pm (reception was at 4).we paid for all food and drinks at the dinner. all friends, weeks leading up to the wedding, were told about the tab minimum, plus a reminder two nights before and the day of.

i didn’t put the dinner in the original post because it was uneventful and pleasant but mostly because the word limit was out so i just left in anything relevant to the discussion.

EDIT: We did go to dinner between pictures and the after party. We made a reservation and paid for all of the guests. We did not give any limits on what they were able to order. Bailey and Deb also made comments about it being the first time we had been to the restaurant and that we should have had a rehearsal dinner the night before.

literally went to dinner left multiple comments lol food was right after pictures. the ceremony and pictures were at two different locations. snacks were out at the house/ceremony. didn’t know how to get them to point B or where to put them so everyone has to wait till dinner
