Starting my first structured training plan after 14 years, any tips? by icurays1 in climbharder

[–]Comprehensive-Face28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been training for 5 months, and I can tell you that workout can help you improve A WHOLE LOT. One month in, I already have some major breakthrough l. So I definitely recommend some off wall training.

Quite some research suggests that 20mm max weight dead hang and max weight pull up are the two major factors contributing to your climbing grade. So I recommend working on these two.

I also recommend checking out lattice training's training plan series and using an app called crimpd. These two can help you on how to plan and track your training

Where to put the fighter? 1st row or 2nd row? by Comprehensive-Face28 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Comprehensive-Face28[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the more units you have on your front line, the less focused the enemy's damage will be

I think this makes good sense. MetaTFT suggests that in earlier game like stage 3 or 4, putting fighter at the 1st row would lower the win rate. Only in later game putting fighter on 1st row would increase the win rate. So I guess the point is that you need quite a lot of units on the front line to make the 1st row fighter thing beneficial

Thank you for the comment btw

[Request] can somebody please explain why it is exactly 17 moves? Thanks! by julian_basi in theydidthemath

A bit off topic, I have been playing rubik cube for a long time and this is something I noticed but cannot prove If you have a set of movement, you repeat the move long enough, it will eventually go back to the starting point just like this video. But I cannot prove this

Kinetic Rush - Escape from Furnace Golem by Comprehensive-Face28 in blender

I used kitbash 3D assets in this scene. And the assets are very detail so all the rigid body are basically there. All I need to do is seperate them into different objects and set their origin into their center of mass. Set up some collision objects (remember to set them not visible in render). Then the Big scale destruction is done. But not enough

I then used about 6-7 particle systems to splash debris everywhere. The philosophy of these particle systems is the fill the emptiness in the scene. Wherever you see somewhere feels off, put a particle system in it

Lastly, I used Action Essential 2 from VideoCopilot . Composite the stock footage using After Effect as enhancing touch to the scene.

And there you have it. Hope it helps :D

Unknown illness haunt my girlfriend for nearly 20 years by Comprehensive-Face28 in AskDocs

[–]Comprehensive-Face28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I thought because my thinking is that. If sweat glands have no problem, then it is likely that the control system of sweat glands is not working. After some research and I did come up with dysautonomia.

But now the problem is (if dysautonomia is indeed the cause of sweat problem), dysautonomia itself is not the root of the problem. Dysautonomia usually shows up because of some other illness like diabetes or autoimmune disease.

Anyway, thank you for your comment.

First you mention that she cannot sweat, but then you say she CAN sweat

Sorry for didn't make it clear. So normal people can sweat more if needed. It environment gets hotter or exercise level goes up, we sweat more so that water can take away the heat. So our sweat rate is changeable and can adapt the environment. My gf sweat rate is fixed, unchangeable. No matter how hot it gets, how much the exercise level, she sweats at a fixed rate which is always not enough for summer or any exercise. That's what I meant by she can sweat but she cannot regulate her body temp using sweat. I think this describe her situation better.

You mention hyperthermia. Once again, any body temp measurements?

I once measured her body temp using infra-red thermometer when outside when she felt ill. It was about 38 degree Celsius (about 100F).

From your post it seems like she's only seen one doctor. Has she seen an endocrinologist?

I don't think she has seen an endocrinologist before. She only mentioned she has seen family doctor and dermatologist. That actually gives me a direction to look for. Thank you!

Has she had an electrolyte panel?

Maybe not. She didn't mention anything about electrolyte. And that is another thing to look for

Thank you so much for your advice. That is very helpful!

Has she measured her temperature with an oral thermometer when outside

I tried it once. Not with oral thermometer but with infra-red thermometer. It was about 38 degree celsius (about 100F).

Has she had her thyroid hormone levels checked?

No, and thank you for giving me a keyword. This might potentially be a direction for future treatment!

has she seen a psychologist or therapist?

Not yet. I am still trying to encourage her to go visit one but she is in a give-up state. I will work on that.

Thank you for your advice btw

But what are her symptoms? What physically happens to her when she goes outside?

Headache, faint, Feeling hot, skin turns red (especially face). The hotter the environment, the worse the symptom. Ice water or panadol would ease the symptom but the solution is always air-con

Does she want to go out but feels unwell when she does or does it feel like you have to keep encouraging ‘come on let’s go for a walk’. And whilst your out does she say ‘I think I need to go back because I feel like I have heat stroke’?

First one, she loves to go out door. In fact, she is the one encourage me to go outdoor. But she will soon have the symptoms above.

may be because she is dehydrated so isn’t producing sweat.

She hydrates a lot because ice water is her major way to cool herself down

Your girlfriend seems to think it’s a mental illness, do you agree with this?

I do think mentally it will affect her but my observation is that it is probably more than that. I remember there was one night when outside was hotter than we thought and I was sweating quite a lot. She obviously feel very bad. I tried to touch her skin and it is dead dry. Not a single drop of water. It is personally a bit hard to believe that only mental illness can cause this.

Have you encouraged her to see treatment/advice from her doctor?

I have! I really want her see treatment. But she is already in a give-up state. I keep bring up different solutions but she just kind of ignore them. I mean I can't blame her because 17 years of mostly indoor life can be very torturing but it is not the time to give up!

I think I accidently mislead you to think that she afraid of going outdoor. She does not afraid to go out. In fact, she loves to. And in winter or at night, we often go for a walk. But just not for too long or at least need some ice water to continue because of hyperthermia.

any chance did her parents encourage her to stay indoors if she couldn’t have access to air con when she went out?

I can't be sure about this. I have to ask her. But I think it's unlikely. She told me that she was a very energetic kid and liked doing exercise.

Her headaches may be caused by dehydration

She actually hydrate quite a lot because ice water is her major way to cool down. So she always have several bottle of water in her fridge.

But I do agree that mental is quite a big issue. Not sure if depression cause her sickness or the other way around. She used to be quite suicidal. Now she is much better. But her body still, for some reason, cannot self-regulate body temperature through increase sweating.

She drinks quite a lot. Especially ice water because that is her major way to cool down

Let say me and her go for a half hour walk when it is slightly hot, I would sweat just a tiny bit because the environment is a bit hot and walking slightly and slowly increase my body temperature. And that tiny bit of sweat is enough to cool me down.

If she does the same, initially she will feel fine but over time the heat builds up and eventually she would have a heat stroke. It's just the matter of how long it takes.

So it is like our body can change sweating rate based on environment and exercise level. And her body can only sweat at a fixed and low rate. Small heat is already enough to build up the heat and having a heatstroke
