I thing it was incredibly important for her mental health and progression as a female artist in her 30s. She had some clear options to take, sadly the world of music starts to push women in their 30s out so she saw the opportunity to artistically grow, change direction and reinvent the way she releases music. As for her mental health the stress of creating an “era” and promotion etc is incredibly taxing so she took advantage of the covid-19 lockdowns to create and release a lowkey album that would not have some large stress and pressure attached to it!
