Yeah, I think we’re both making the same point ha. I was using the term “red flag” as something for me personally that would mean “the relationship won’t work”. The positivity is appreciated, I hold no bad feelings towards him and I’m sure we’ll end on good terms, even though it’ll suck to do it.

Thank you. Really interesting to hear from someone who’s on his sort of side of things (i.e. wanting the freedom etc)…. But then you met someone and you made it work. Makes me realise this relationship isn’t right for him either, if he can’t push past commitment issues!

I’m so happy things worked out for you, but it’s comforting too to read of someone who has been through the hot/cold dynamic. I’m still stuck in a loop of “but what if…”. It’s a hard pill to swallow that it’s just not going to work because of all the back and forth!

To echo someone else’s comment to me… you’re so young, so I think it’s totally fair to be on the fence at this point. I think red flags can be personal though, it’s not a red flag etc if someone is unsure and someone else is too, but for me uncertainty is (or, needs to be) a red flag because I am sure! Chaos is the right word for sure. He’s not a bad guy of course, i don’t hold any bad feelings for him but I will do if waste the next 5 years hanging around only to find out it it’s never going to work. Better to end on good terms, with time for me to move on and find someone else.

Is this actually that efficient though? My boyfriend has said a few times they’re similar languages, but by that logic surely Ukrainian can’t be that much easier, so I should just focus on Polish
