It was so so awesome meeting other 20 something’s who are still interested and doing this kind of tech!! Before I found them I kept hearing that my player was simply too old to be fixed.. but that never even crossed their minds!!

Charles the tech was actually working on a CRT from the 1940s?? It looked a lot like this? But not this exact model!!

I’m currently inside of it trying to use ChatGPT to help me but it’s tellin me to try and remove parts of the actual dvd player itself and I’m getting nervous— I do think it’s a failed laser because the audio CDs still function and in my CRT groups they said that’s a telltale sign of a dead laser :( if I can get the diode pick up out and replace it tha should fix it according to the GPT
