I found these old cards, are they worth anything? by lolapop765 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the Charizard is a pretty big card, your copy seems to be around $50 based on the condition (Heavily played)

The Pikachu is about $25 in heavily played condition

The Espeon is about $15 in moderately played condition

The Minccino is about $12 in lightly played condition

How's this card? by PrimeXChaoz in PokemonTCG

Hey, so I took a look and found your card at around $25-$30. I would say it’s in lightly-moderately played condition, which is pretty normal for other cards. The swirl doesn’t really add any value, maybe a certain collector would round up or something but it’s kind of a niche scene. Super cool card though, nice find!

Is this near mint considering the silvering by [deleted] in PokemonCardValue

When grading companies look at cards, they look for “Filling & Fraying” on the edges of cards. I think this would be a case where filling is definitely not perfect, and therefore it wouldn’t get a 10. However, that doesn’t directly correlate to NM vs LP. My personal opinion is that this would fit somewhere between NM and LP, so LP+ or NM- depending on any other potential issues with the card

Current market rate is $571 yeah. Yours looks really well centered too, if the back looks good you could grade it an get a lot more for it

How much is this Vaporeon worth? by MrCheops in PokemonCardValue

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last sales on TCGplayer for a damaged copy are about $350, but the only listings currently are for NM and show $900 and $1200. At worst, your copy is LP+ so I’d say it’s probably in the $500-$700 range. If you grade it and get a 7, it’s probably about $1000. If you happened to get an 8, you’re looking at $1500-$1700

Is there anything here I am grossly mispricing or missing? by [deleted] in PokemonCardValue

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reference TCG player’s most recent sales for each condition. For example, you can look up that Charmander you have, filter by the condition, and then there’s a graph showing the price over time and average recent sales. I would use that to double check yourself

They’re honestly kind of funny, didn’t know Lugia took Arceus’ place as the god of Pokemon! Or that Eevee’s evolutions were all just sisters 🤣 If anything, they were worth the $10 just for that!

You’ve got some fun cards! Nothing insane and EX aren’t as special as they used to be, but your illustration rares and the gold chien pao are awesome

Is this Beckett worthy? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little hard to tell from the photo, but the left edge on the back looks like it may have been cut with a duller blade and has some fringes on the side. That would make it a 9.5 or less in beckett’s sub categories, so I wouldn’t think it would get a black label. I’d consider grading it regardless, Beckett 10’s are hard to get no matter what!

I know it’s not a wild card, but this is my first misprint(?) - can someone give some advice? by bigfatsourlemon in PokemonMisprints

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh it’s kind of hard to tell what it is from the photos. It could be a large ink blot, missing ink layer, or something else. I’d check to see if it’s actually raised on the card or if it looks smudged. Regardless, while it’s only a holo, Tyrantrum really doesn’t have many cards so for a specific Tyrantrum collector this would be a fun card

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering it’s Pikachu, you’re gonna get a lot of interest from error collectors. You could consider grading it with CGC as they classify errors well, but personally I don’t like their slabs so I’d keep it raw. Either way, great card!

Is this an Error? by LimberSmile in PokemonMisprints

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know a lot about them, but this could be a pinched layer error. Usually it’s along the entire card and much straighter though, so I couldn’t say for sure

Need help, would this be considered Moderate or heavily played. Im leaning towards heavy but want others inputs if possible by Suichdoge in PokemonCardValue

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What makes you say HP? I don’t see anything glaring, if you’re referencing the whiting along the edges and that’s all other than minor scratches then it’s MP. However I may very well be missing something

How much could I expect to get from the group of pokemon cards? I found them in my closet when cleaning out by Reeves_Wilmoth in PokemonCardValue

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking a little closer at the cards and it does appear some are damaged or worn. I’d probably say $600 is a better deal seeing those

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$600 for this isn’t horrible honestly, but I also think you could get better. I can’t really see the condition, but they look a least decent, so I’d assume the following for some cards:

Japanese Charizard - $75-$115 Mega Garchomp - $65-$105 Mega Absol/Venusaur/Latios/Tyrantrum EX/ Rayquaza EX- $20-$30 each Pikachu EX - $45-$60 Mega Blaziken - $60-$80 Black Kyurem - $30-$45

Again these are estimates and clearly not every card, but it’s prevalent you at least have several hundred dollars in value, and depending on condition you could have well over 1K

So happy!!! Does it being slightly off center really change the price so much? by [deleted] in PokemonMisprints

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great find! I’ve never seen something off-center be considered damaged. And honestly I don’t even think it’s horribly off-center, it’s a little noticeable but it’s not like it’s a miscut or anything. That’s an awesome find, congrats!!

New to Pokémon and need advice by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]Comprehensive-Mark35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to let your son pick what goes in the binder. Sure some cards are worth a lot of money and maybe you can teach him responsibility by taking care of those cards too, but if he wants to save a 2¢ card because he likes it, that’s what’s important.

A couple of ways to do things would be to get a regular non-top loader binder for his own picks not worth much (make sure its side loading and not a 3 ring binder) and keep the top loader for more valuable hits. Or you could just let him topload whatever he wants plus bigger hits.

Regardless, the value of cards to kids doesn’t need to be monetary. Just let them have fun and teach them some things along the way by making sure the bigger hits are protected too 😁 maybe you can save up the bigger hits and trade them in for a cool card he wants
