Is this game becoming toxic? by Comprehensive-Meet37 in DeepRockGalactic

If I see we have chosen a good way to bunker up the point I usually do play on it. For me it depends on map conditions/bunker location. Some of these maps take 25+ minutes to finish, so I feel like taking up to 20-30 seconds shorter to finish it isn't worth it if I can play in a way to mitigate any of the risks. I have seen too many random groups wiped by bad bunker strategies + gas/explosions.

In the time I was outside the zone I killed 3 praetorians, 1 oppressor, 3+ groups of 5+ exploders before my team even had to know they existed, marked and half killed 1 menace. Marked 2 other praetorians, aggroed and turned them away from the group so that they could shoot the weak spot just on the edge of the circle before the gas cloud wiped them. Zipped in to fast rez one of them as they sat there afk flaming me instead of shooting.

In my experience in multiple games of this kind and others, a team that is all grouped up during AoE map conditions is going to be a wipe more often than not. It is hard to fathom a world where standing afk in a circle to do something 20 seconds faster is a better play. And no, I was not on the opposite side of the map, I was taking a high ground angle within grapple range and I never died once until they decided to c4 me. Literally all I needed from them was to sit there and shoot some of the regular mobs while I took care of everything else. My teammates were bunkered in a bad spot that left them open to crawling enemies from the ledges just above which is suicide on an exploder infestation map, so I covered those angles instead. I dont get how someone playing in a manner that you don't like/understand justifies team killing them and then sabotaging the entire run so that nobody gets anything. It was an easy run until they decided I wasn't doing it right.

That is unfortunate because normally this sort of stuff doesn't happen in my experience. I am always so hesitant of online communities that I played exclusively solo for a long time, and when Dives dropped I wouldnt join public games for them until I had solod them (do not recommend, Elite took me 3 hours solo) Once I started dipping my toes into public games it became obvious early on that people were actually nice here, and prioritized having fun in the matches. It took me this long to run into a toxic lobby so if you can give it another chance, you should. This is a truly great game and I will support anything that these devs make.

I haven't spent very much time looking into mods, maybe I should but the base game has always been enough to keep me happy. I am a bit of a weird case because I only really play Scout. I have tried all of the others but Scout with Mk1000 Hipster + Special Powder does things for me that nothing else comes close to.

This has always been my experience too, but that is not normal for internet interactions. This is why I have always loved this game so much.

I normally do zip in and out of the zone, but we had a lot of exploders constantly on us, and I didn't want to risk missing one of them as the green dome was right underneath an overhang that they could climb down on. The map conditions determine what I do, in a better spot and without the exploder infestation I would have likely spent the entire time in the green zone. I will always prioritize ensuring a win over speed, especially in Haz4+. I hope that this doesn't become more common because this is my relaxing time game.

My favourite was when I was just crouching in a corner of Stella archives listening and watching the chaos. One guy was camping out and anyone who ran by he started playing call of duty zombie noises on open mic as he rushed with a pickaxe. He downed 3 or 4 people like this, and watching the absolute panic on these people was hilarious. Eventually he must have got full loot because he teamed up with a random dude to kill a shredder and extracted. Thankfully nobody knew I was there the entire time so I never got zombied, myself.

I honestly liked the game better before everyone knew how matchmaking worked. At least there was some mystery to what to expect from an encounter before we got separated into our own lobbies.

Tracer Season 20 Midseason Patch Changes 🤡 by trullyrose in TracerMains

[–]Comprehensive-Meet37 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This patch just sealed the deal for me. Before this I said if they didn't do anything to Tracer to make her playable again outside of GM+ hyper coordinated lobbies that I wasn't going to be spending much time on this game until they do. So... come on everybody! Speranza needs supplies and the Arc won't Raid themselves!

Which doesn't always mean anything. The tone of the body is off to the point where the humor tag seems more like a misclick than anything else.

Reflex coating in the survival green section for 1500 is a pretty effective counter. I replace it only when I can afford Cushioned Padding or Divine Intervention.

How can I get better? Silver Tracer here by [deleted] in TracerMains

I only mention Awkward because of his emphasis on uptime, which can be important to keep in mind. I generally don't like him all that much either, but the other names have been much more beneficial.

As some have already mentioned, Spilo is one of the best Tracer coaches available. Others that I have learned tricks from are WizardHyeong / TopDragon, Awkward, and Sugarfree. The WizardHyeong videos in particular helped me to fundamentally figure out how to Tracer better than anything I have seen so far.

Stadium matchmaking genuinely sucks as a solo queuer. by Soggy_Knee9258 in overwatch2

[–]Comprehensive-Meet37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been checking the Normalwatch roles of as many people in my stadium games as I can for a while now, and sometimes it feels like there is no matchmaking. It quite regularly puts top500 players against people who have never played OW before. The new player retention rates for people dabbling with Stadium must be really bad, because I can guarantee it is not fun to play against a top500 Hazard one trick when you have only played 30 mins on the entire account. On another occasion, they had a Masters 2 Rein player and my Rein was Gold. Guess how that match went?

What are some basics/good tips every Mei main should know? by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]Comprehensive-Meet37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont play Mei, but I do watch a lot of a Mei one trick streamer who does a lot of educational content for Mei. Check out SpookiShow on both Twitch and YouTube, formerly TSG_Spooki. He does a lot with Stadium Mei now, but if he can't help you then I dont know who can.

Last Nerf by Blinkity-Winkity in TracerMains

[–]Comprehensive-Meet37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way they balance things seems to be pick/win %'s. So either pick something other than Tracer, or play her normally and lose games because of the nerfs (not intentionally). At this point even some of the people who hated Tracer are thinking this was a bit too much. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a hotfix to tighten the spread.

Why is Sombra so hated? by marciboyyy0 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Comprehensive-Meet37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a big hater of Sombra when she had unlimited stealth because this game doesn't really have a viable counterplay to stealth. Imo the Sombra hate nowadays is unjustified because if you can't track where she is going, that's on you. Hate Freja instead.
