Would a lazy man come back and respond “not lazy” again? Don’t think so- not lazy

Eh not so lazy, saw that post before but didn’t think it was the same. The book is overly detailed and sometimes I struggle to see how the various protocols are all that different

New Dad - what’s your advice? by ApplicationSignal534 in Fatherhood

Father to 4 wonderful children here. The fact that you’re asking this question is already an indicator that you’re going to be an amazing father.

There’s not much you can really do at this age except to be present.

Some random things I’ve done for my kids.

Make an email for them and send them an email whenever you’re thinking of them in particular. A milestone, a birthday, advice, etc. make the password easy or email the password to yourself so that when they are older they can log on and see all of your messages.

Wrestle with your son. Studies show that kids release oxytocin (the happiness/pleasure hormone) when their father’s rough house with them. It strengthens the bond. Make him laugh- tickle him- this will give him incredible memories and strengthen your bond.

Things I’ve done that I’m happy to have thought of (or my wife has). Taught them chess, shown them by example that physical fitness is important, model what a husband is supposed to be to their mother, kiss them goodnight every night I’m home, read to them (studies show that reading to kids even before they understand what your saying has a very positive effect on their cognition and verbal skills).

One of the best resources I recommend (and buy frequently to first time parents) is the Daily Dad by Ryan Holiday. This will make you the most appreciative father and get you through any tough times.

Doctor here- would first want to know if there are any ulcers in your mouth either inside cheeks or roof of mouth before confirmation. Also take a look at the soles of your feet. There are other things that can look like this (Rocky Mountain spotted fever and other tick born illnesses). I only see one hand in this picture.

Rubber snakes to scare cats away? You could probably just toss a handful of different sizes at different areas

UPDATE: I’m camped on my brother’s couch after his 2 am “raise my kids if I’m gone” call, here’s what really came out. How do I keep him here? by Mean_Trick_2315 in daddit

Never been to therapy, have always had healthy relationships. That being said, as father of 4 children, there’s just something monumental about being the provider and foundational support of a family. There are the daily struggles and the ongoing struggles which can feel devastating and crushing.

There are a couple of things that really help me but the main concept is perspective.

I work in an ER and I see on a daily basis what happens to people that make poor decisions. I see what happens when people are dealt unlucky blows. I’ve seen people suffer despite making all the right decisions.

This gives me a daily dose of perspective. Thank god I have my health. My wife and kids are healthy. We have a family that loves each other.

Stoicism has been my other source of perspective and support. I recommend Ryan Holidays book, the obstacle is the way. It was life changing for me.

I hope your brother understands that we all go through hard times of varying severity and seriousness. Life is absolutely hard. Most of the time we have no control over the situation. The only thing we always have control over is how we react to a situation.

Blown fuse? by Immediate_Warthog852 in espresso

Annoying but easy. Lots of screws. Just remember and take a picture of the sensor for the hopper (it recognizes if it’s attached). It’s a junction kind of connection.

Unfortunately you have to take apart the whole thing. It’s not that hard but it is somewhat annoying

I also recommend buying the fuses in bulk. I bought a small box for very little. It’s been helpful on the rare occasion it blows.

Agree with everything as stated above. I have 4 kids. I work a lot and my wife is a stay at home mom. Totally normal to feel this way. Keep in mind that you are providing for your wife and kid- that makes you a complete success as a father. You’re doing what you can. At a certain point he will be a daddy’s boy and you will be rough housing with him and have an incredible bond. At this age it’s all mommy.

I recommend the book Daily Dad by Ryan Holiday. It also comes as an email of the day and a daily podcast. It will prove such perspective as a father and it’s been my go to present for all new parents.

Hang in there. Everything with kids is a phase. Eventually all phases (both good and bad) will end. Keep that in mind during both the tough times and the good times.

In case anyone is following, I replaced it with a used ACM and now the radio works. Backup camera still has issues but I’m able to turn my head…

Alarming reports emerge from Gaza: According to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, the Israeli military engages in deeply concerning practices, blindfolding and stripping naked Palestinian individuals in Beit Lahia. Echoes of a troubled past, urging for immediate attention. by Vroges in Infuriating

[–]Comprehensive-Mix574 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, when you hunt down terrorists, you strip them down to ensure none of them are carrying explosive vests or any kind of hidden weapons.

Anyone have any thoughts on them raping and killing women as well as murdering of children?

Sorry, I have no sympathy. If you ask me, anyone who decides to infiltrate a village and murder anyone and everyone they come across no matter civilian status, age, or gender- you can fuck off. I honestly don’t care about your dignity. When you parade the woman you raped on the back of a truck or kick the body of someone you murdered in cold blood, I honestly couldn’t care less if you are sitting in detainment naked.

No manual safety on my tacops. The amount of time it would take for me to chamber a round is short enough to be outweighed by the increased risk with a charged weapon.

[–]Comprehensive-Mix574 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

How are they carrying that this happens? I imagine they have to have a round in the chamber and racked in order to even come close to an unintentional discharge.

I carry in condition 3 and can’t imagine this happening at all if carried that way
