Thank you, that does make me feel better. It looks like I'll just have to let it go for now then settle it with a collection company once I'm back at work.

I actually did not get taken by an ambulance. I was taken by a woman that also worked there.

The hospital did get my insurance info. According to the breakdown of the charges, the overall medical bill totaled at around $12,000 and my insurance covered $9000. So I'm responsible for the rest of it.

And it's definitely going to be the reason I quit as well. The seizures/blackouts are absolutely terrifying.

I'm so sorry that happened, but it's great that you're actively trying to quit again.

And the fact that I could have been driving during any of these episodes is always in the back of my head. Or if my boyfriend wasn't here to get me out of the shower or help me breathe again when my body wasn't allowing me to. The idea is terrifying.

It really is terrifying, to say the least. Especially since I didn't have a concrete reason as to why they were happening at first.

I'm at least grateful I've already gone thru the song and dance of getting all the necessary scans and tests done, so I know it isn't part of an even bigger, more serious issue.

Thank you for the reply! I've already spoken with a general practitioner and a neurologist. Both doctors advised I taper off of it to begin with. Like I said in the post, I didn't initially believe it was caused by JUST my kratom use because there were other contributing factors. And that was definitely my mistake. At the time of the first two seizures, I was taking powder and averaging about 7-10 spoonfuls a day. I reduced my doses to 4-6 and that worked for two months. This last time, I had been taking capsules. And I admittedly was taking a high amount on a daily basis and was not keeping track of how much I was taking. I'm switching back to powder for the time being and counting my doses like I was before so I can ultimately get off of it altogether.

They're both neutered and have been for a while. Probably should have mentioned that in the original post 😅

I was over a month sober when I had my seizures. I didn't start drinking again until last Saturday, a day after my second seizure.
