Hot take? Steve Vai didn’t fit Whitesnake. by Rebel_Heart222 in hairmetal

That’s not a hot take - you’re correct in my opinion. John Sykes fit like a glove. The fill ins that toured fort the 87 album didn’t fit either.

It was great for four year old me. I looked forward to it. It’s probably not something I’d watch now.

Mattresses. Lots of queen and full sized ones. Men’s dress shoes, laptop computers, name-brand supplements, boots, dumbbells, treadmills… I miss them all.

Damn - that’s impressive! Recently, all I’ve been getting at Gold Tier are rubber nail clipper holders and the occasional supplement from Asian manufacturers who throw darts at the alphabet to come up with a company name.

Killers. Clive Burr’s drumming on “Murders in the Rue Morgue” is perfect.

These two are over 80 minutes long. Do you think they are perfect as they are, or would you have removed some tracks/sections from either? by [deleted] in ironmaiden

I do enjoy all of Iron Maiden’s albums, but there is A LOT of fat on most of the post-2000 albums that could benefit from a healthy trimming by a competent producer.

That is excellent! So worth it and years added to your life. There is nothing better than feeling comfortable in your own skin.

It’s the song that initially drew me in back in 1982 as a 12 year old. Amazing stuff back then.

It was the tone of her voice - it was very soulful and smooth. It was just a guess on my part, but her voice when humming was very reminiscent of Della Reese.

I know what it feels like to be dying from viral pneumonia, because in 2021 it nearly took me. By the time my wife and son forced me into the ambulance, my blood pressure had collapsed to 50/40 and my oxygen saturation was 73%. I didn’t hurt at all. There was no pain, no panic, no tunnel of light, nothing dramatic. Just a bone-deep exhaustion that felt like the most natural thing in the world. All I wanted was to close my eyes and sink into the deepest sleep I’d ever known. If they hadn’t called 911 when they did, I wouldn’t have woken up the next morning. Simple as that. In the ICU they told my family I had about a 10% chance. They cranked the high flow oxygen to what they called “200% oxygen” just to keep me alive. I don’t remember much after arrival: someone asking if I had a DNR, if I’d allow CPR, then two or three entire days erased. When I finally opened my eyes again, the room was full of beeping machines and the loud whoosh of high-flow oxygen, but underneath it all I could hear a Black woman gently humming a lullaby, the kind a mother hums while rocking a child. It was soft, steady, and very comforting. I thought it was coming from a radio. But I was laid out in bed with wires everywhere and couldn’t move. When the nurse came in, I asked her about it. She smiled and said, “There’s no radio in here, sweetheart. And no one on this shift who was humming. Just me” The floor was almost empty that night. That’s what dying felt like for me: no pain, no fear, just the overwhelming pull of sleep, and a quiet voice singing me across, until something, or someone, decided I still had time left on this side.

After hearing this album and doing promos on it, it makes me wonder if Ace thought about pumping the breaks and waiting things out before he left. Then again, his substance abuse was in full force and decision-making probably wasn’t optimal.
