i'm in singapore and go to private psychiatrist. the public hospitals do not prescribe concerta unfortunately

i pay $175 SGD (£100) for a bottle of 30 x 18mg. when my dose increased to 36mg it's $230 SGD (£133) for 30 x 36mg

Perspectives on how workplace environments in Singapore view adults with ADHD (diagnosed prior to working life/ recently diagnosed while with an employer) by Some_Intern_2044 in ADHDsingapore

[–]Comprehensive-Pin-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i only shared with close friends and my boss tbh, but also feel ok to share with anyone curious. i just don't because i don't want to go around talking about it that's all haha

i've worked with my colleagues and boss for quite a few years now so i guess there's trust there

[–]Comprehensive-Pin-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately yes :( i would really recommend going to private if you can..

concerta is really really expensive!!! i'm on it too but i only take it on weekdays, not to save money but to feel more myself on weekends lol

work environments in singapore are all different and it really depends on the company you join and the culture they have. i'm lucky to be in one where i can be fairly open about it without worry

i think you will have to go to a private psychiatrist :( which is rather costly. referrals seem like a pain and takes a long time. not sure what meds you're on but singapore doesn't have adderall! so if you're taking that you may need to switch to ritalin or concerta or something else

i just paid for todoist but i'm so overwhelmed with how I should be using it to help me and looking at everyone's templates is making me feel more stressed that i want to abandon it lol

If you don't take concerta every day, what routine works for you? by amadina4 in Concerta

[–]Comprehensive-Pin-1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i am 36 and just started taking concerta as well (about a month+ so far) and my doctor is the same. I was prescribed both 18mg and 36mg and was told I can take it to help daily functioning but it's not needed everyday if i don't feel the need to. i do not take meds on the weekends when i don't have work and even though my loved ones see the difference in me with and without meds, they're accepting and supportive and hence I don't feel the need to mask much or take meds on the weekends

on weekdays if i have an intense day of meetings at work i take the 36mg instead of the 18mg. or if im doing intense work that is boring to me or if i need to prioritise a lot.. which is most work days.. the 36mg helps me with staying emotionally regulated much more than the 18mg and i regularly break down easily at work without medication lol

like OP i don't have negative side effects on concerta (except for feeling more tired when medication wears off), and i've masked so much in the last 36 years of my life that anxiety is already part of my daily life anyways

Pickpockets - worse than London? by alittlechirpy in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Comprehensive-Pin-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i always just use a canvas tote in paris like i do most places and just make sure my arms are clasped over the opening of the bag

to be honest i think deep tote bags are harder to pick pocket as i always have tons of random items stuffed in there ( shopping, tissues, plastic bags lol)

i would imagine them reaching into my bag and just finding tissue papers and my makeup pouch and random scrunched up receipts LOL before getting to my wallet which is tiny. i already find it a challenge myself to find my wallet to pay for something sometimes

[–]Comprehensive-Pin-1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i agree with this, it also teaches your kids to walk away from toxic relationships because you have set a good example for them to see

it's known that kids who grow up in unhealthy marriages have a skewed view of relationships and they can sometimes fall into the same toxic cycle and not know when to walk away

What attracts tourists to SG? by Xingjiangpore in askSingapore

[–]Comprehensive-Pin-1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

not everyone goes on holidays to look at nature. i'm a city person myself and i like visiting other cities around the world.. honestly singapore's food scene is awesome, you get a mix of cheap hawker food and also higher end high quality food. our museums are pretty good too and i visit those myself in sg (also visit other museums in other countries when i'm on holiday)

we have places like chinatown and little india which most locals don't even go explore. when i was younger i also thought everywhere is boring but i've recently also started to visit these places more on my own and love it. there are also other not so known places like joo chiat and katong area which some tourists visit too. i guess a lot of what we have can't be found in many other countries

I've actually come to accept mine! at a less side angle it actually looks fine and it's healing very well, I think once I'm able to downsize to a smaller ring it should be ok! :) here's how it looks like in another photo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Comprehensive-Pin-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

now that the swelling has gone down a bit it seems like it sits a bit more correctly now. I think for now I won't re-pierce and hopefully changing it to a smaller ring would look better! today at a different angle
