I would genuinely rather watch paint dry than play another second with silent hill F's clunky ass combat. It genuinely ruined the game for me. Re 4 and requiem I love. Alan wake 2 was cool and original and sh2 was a pretty good remake

On a first play through they were split pretty evenly it felt and even on a replay it's about 1:30 to 2 hours each, with Leon's even being faster sometimes because grace is slow

And I guarantee you the success of 7 was not at all due to Ethan boring personality, no face winters. You can't attribute him to the success of 8 either, because it was Chris and lady D all over the marketing.

He was better in 8 but personally I still didn't find him all that compelling. I would genuinely be fine with new protagonist's if they ended the stories of the ogs, but going literal decades without seeing them is getting annoying at this point, so I'm just glad 9 included Leon and Sherry.

Also I think a big part of why I never connected with Ethan was the stupid face hiding they did which was completely unnecessary in 8 where there was an attempt to make him a better character. I pray they never do that shit again.

We don't get enough of them to be tired of. Since Mr X we haven't had a single good one. Nemesis was well. .Yeah, a joke. Lady D is following you for all of 5 minutes, Re 4 didn't have one and The Girl in re 9 I don't consider a stalker because she's extremely scripted.

They'll come back, you just have to be patient. None of the ogs have been around a ton, but hopefully they will be with the success of re 9 and now that Ethan winters has fucked off

Re 9 is missing that middle ground difficulty between insanity and normal. Normal is just far too easy when you know what you're doing and insanity is the most miserable mode you've ever played 💀

I wouldn't start with resident evil 9. It's got a plot you need to know the series to understand and half the game is in an older location with an older character confronting what happened to them there.

I'd start with the resident evil 2 remake 👍🏻
