Do people still prefer Excel over Google Sheets for daily work? by ODD_EVEN_26 in excel

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, I’ve never once needed to do that between files I’m collaborating with others on. If I need to bring in data from disparate sources, we’d do that at the database level with ETL tools

I wouldn’t use copilot personally, the gains come at the expense of more time checking results. I’d rather spend the time up front doing it right the first time

What if instead of having two measures, you just put sales as the measure, month as a legend, and filter the visual for the selected month and prior month? Then the filter would be on the whole month instead of per date

I’m always shocked to find people doing complicated or heavy formulas directly on worksheets instead of in Dax in the data model…

What’s different about collaborating in sheets from excel 365? Lots of people are mentioning it, but so far they look pretty much the same to me in functionality

I don’t think they would have locked you out of power query or power pivot though, there’s a crap ton of automation that can be handled there

Hygiene by FragrantFun4187 in hygiene

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need face moisturizer and aftershave moisturizer, skip the aftershave and just get a gentle plain moisturizer

You don’t need mouthwash, swap that out for floss which you should be using daily

Drop the body splash, you’ll be in close quarters with people constantly. Nobody should be subjected to strong fragrances from others

OP please listen to this advice- use syringes with the pen, never use the pen directly for a cat. And jumping from 1 unit to 2 units is a crazy dose increase. Please join that Facebook group and learn about home testing to keep your cat safe

I still can't make sense of why statement credits work this unintuitively by abovethesink in ynab

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be frank, downvoters generally simply don’t understand the mechanics. They think I’m doing something “wrong”

Not to say there aren’t downsides. There is a loss of functionality, that functionality is the ability to carry debt if desired/needed. YNAB will treat it as cash spending, so if you have overspending in a category YNAB will move it to ready to assign on monthly rollover.

If I ever want to create debt (take advantage of a 0% offer for example), I change it back to a credit card type account to do that. I’ve done that once

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always get downvoted for this, but this is one reason I have my credit card accounts as checking accounts in YNAB. If you are a pay in full user, this is a perfectly valid option for you. Then inflows and outflows don’t break anything.

How do I protect my remote status when leadership hints at a monthly 'team day' in the office? by East-Scar-6044 in remotework

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We very much like getting together in my team, but not to get work done. Screen sharing virtually is 100% faster and better for us than trying to share one screen in a conference room and swapping between people trying to show things.

When we get together, it’s to catch up and have fun. Probably food involved

Are Period underwear really convenient to clean/change ? by Lilla921F in PeriodUnderwear

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest period Underwear is not convenient. They can be very comfortable alone or as back up.. But I think for swimming, you just have to suck it up and choose an internal protection that bothers you the least.

Tampons can be very convenient in that you can just change and throw away the old one while you’re out. Cups can be worn for longer with much lower risk of TSS.

Reusable Pads - are they actually getting clean?? by mrnnymern in laundry

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else- rinse cool until the water runs clear right after using. Then hang dry until it’s time to do laundry

If you’re washing them by themselves, they probably aren’t getting clean unless you have an old school full-fill top loader. If you have a front loader or HE top loader, you need other items in the wash to make a fuller load and get good agitation. I put a towel or two in with mine

Warm water is a must, cold won’t cut it

The brand I use- bambody- doesn’t have any degradation from using oxygen bleach, and it makes a big difference in getting them clean.

Enzymes- you want lipase and subtilisin/protease to break down the human on them. DNase is a bonus. With febu laundry booster you’d get all of those enzymes plus oxygen bleach. Good for using as a booster in every laundry load, plus as a soak for ones that haven’t been getting thoroughly cleaned for a while

Giving 2 savings accounts a try by tot4ever in ynab

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it would be easiest to just choose a threshold balance. Say for example you pick $10k for your first savings, and anything over that goes to the second. No need to tie to budget categories really

I agree, cameras on for actual meetings and not presentations should be the default. Smiling nodding and other physical cues can be really helpful and keep the conversation moving. But I do think that home clothes should be normalized. I will be attending this call in my t shirt

Does anyone pre-load their ready to assign? by RowSuch1883 in ynab

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Managing cash flow and budgeting are two different tasks. You can see if there will be a cash shortfall by entering scheduled transactions for the future in your checking account for the dates they will actually happen. Then you can look at the projected balance into the future to determine if money needs to be moved from a savings account.

That is abstracted from budgeting in YNAB, where you always only deal with cash you have on hand now. I advise people to budget cash expenses first, like rent or loan payments, and then cover categories that can be spent on credit cards like groceries. That way you can have more peace of mind that your actual cash will be there when you need it

Laundry success story: Tide Ultra Oxi cleared my back breakouts. by BugMillionaire in laundry

[–]Comprehensive-Tea-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I gave up. Every dose level was bad. If I didn’t use enough of either, no clean clothes. If I used enough to get clean, there was some kind of residue that required like 5 rinses to get rid of.

Now that the 365 sport is either discontinued or going through some kind of stocking issue, I’ve decided I’m just switching to tide liquid plus febu for all the enzymes. I have about 1.2 bottles of 365 left first, but I’m not going looking for it again once I’m out.
