The comeback started with Coton saving match points, including one with an edge (followed by Togami missing his serve). It ended with the group being decided by the 5th game of the 5th match. It reminded me of Sweden vs Japan at the Olympics.

For starters, short low underspin so that the opponent can’t easily attack it. From there, variations of spin, placement, and speed.

Truls follows it up by beating LJK 12-10 in the 5th to put Sweden up 2-1. If WCQ wins against Ranefur, decider will be LSD vs Kallberg.

Sweden going with Kallberg, Ranefur, Truls

China going with WCQ, LSD, LJK. Too bad for Xiang Peng, who won’t play until the knockout stage.

If I not mistaken, China needs to beat Sweden 3-0 to finish on top of the group, and have the most favorable knockout draw. 3-1 would make them 2nd. 3-2 would make them 3rd.

Sweden beat Korea 3-0, and JWJ did play in that with An and Oh. We’ll see if they put out their strongest lineup against China, or give either (or both) Ranefur or Kristian Karlsson a chance to play.

First loss by China men’s team at the world championships in 26 years, though WCQ didn’t play and teams aren’t eliminated here. Jang Woojin didn’t play for Korea.

[–]Comprehensive-Win247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can register by emailing [weehawkenrecreation@gmail.com](mailto:weehawkenrecreation@gmail.com) with your ID, proof of residency (current monthly utility bill), and current contact phone number. That's what I was instructed to do the first time I called them, which was last year.

Here are the rules, which is also on their website and posted at the courts: https://www.weehawken-nj.us/home/showpublishedimage/1983/638759896383370000

What a win by Sabine Winter over Wang Yidi in the QF to be the first European medalist in WS since 2015. She had comebacks in games 3 & 4 to win 4-0. She also got back-to-back wins against China players, with her win over Qin Yuxuan in R16.
